I have posted this on another thread but hey...

Congratulations and welcome back to Leicester fans from an MCFC fan (of 33 years standing).

Don't know why - always had a soft spot for Leicester - and went to Filbert Street many times.

Great club, great fans - you made plenty of noise and stayed to the end when we played you over there in Dec. You always have a good away following too. I have always found yours a friendly club and fans (never encountered The Baby Squad though!). It will be good to have a proper club with proper support back in the Premier League - to counter balance the plastics that latch onto the $ky 4.

I have had some great days out in Leicester...2011 when there was the red n black scarves and Neil Young (scorer of the winning goal in the 1969 FA Cup FInal to those too young!) tribute. Exciting game (we nearly chucked it away), Cracking atmosphere and we got you back home where we triumphed on our way to our first trophy in 35 years.

My first trip to Leicester was 86/87 where we sadly lost a relegation dog-mauling (it certainly wasn't a dogfight) 4-0. Everything that could go wrong went wrong....a short Stevey Redmond backpass sticking in the mud..Perry Suckling couldn't catch a bar of soap in Strangeways (or nearby Leicester prison) that day. Alan Smith (later of Arsenal) kept sticking out his gangly legs to score a couple. We knew we were going down after that day even if there was a way to go. We were a poor side. Players like Kevin Langley who was dogshit. Still, despite thar we had a good day out and got nicely oiled on the local brew, Everard's Tiger. Both MCFC and LCFC went down in the end with Villa :-(

I remmeber the following Div 2 season (1-1 draw if I recall rightly - David Pleat your manager?) going into a Leicester chippy and asking for a chip butty (I was trying to be helpful not using the Manchester vernacular "chip barm") and getting tld in noncertain terms "Chip cob"!

It was a tense day out when we eked a vital draw under Kevin Keegan when Dicky fluffed that pen. We stayed up the Foxes went down eventually. Now you'e back and if you check out our Bluemoon-mcfc thread you'll see more than a few of us are pleased for you.

Good luck to Leicester (except v MCFC of course), I think and hope you stay up.

Who do you think will make the grade in the top flight? Where does Pearson need to strengthen?

I can see a majority of our current squad staying around for the top-flight experience. Some of the "fringe" players or short-term deals may be offloaded in the summer, but that's a handful at most.

We need additions in all areas, but only players that fit the profile and Pearson's system. I can see him going for depth in squad and as the manager's already pointed out, he's unlikely to go for any kind of "marquee signing".

I wouldn't expect us to splash the cash over the summer, so to speak.

Great post ! Loving hearing the fine detail from an away fan's perspective. Wish more would come on with these insights. Makes a good read.

Congratulations to Leicester, buzzing for the fans, a proper club back in the Premier League where they belong.

See you all next season.

Come on you blues!  :scarf:

I have fond memories of visiting Goodison Park in the mid 70s I think it was.

We parked on some waste ground and 4 or 5 young lads came up and offered to 'look after' our car. That was quite decent & friendly I thought. There was a small 'fee' involved but hey, always happy to encourage young, entrepreneur talent.

We drew 1-1 with Weller - if I remember correctly - getting our equaliser. We were in the upper tear behind one of the goals, my bother & I, and we leapt up jumping around when the goal went in. I turned around to see hundreds of faces looking at us and not one was a City fan.

There wasn't any problems though and we left at the end quite satisfied.

The car? We returned to find 4 wheels intact and not a mark on it. What service!  :chant:

Thanks. Sounds a sensible strategy, can't risk the future of your club. I really like your manager. He's very level headed.

What about Andy King? Will you keep him or is he likely to stay at Championship level?

Thanks. It's good to be made welcome. Maybe I'll come on and have a chat about our games next season. Feel free to post on Bluemoon-mcfc where you'll get a warm welcome.

I think King will stay, he deserves it most. His first season he's not been first choice since coming through our academy and he's not complained once. He will make a good backup
