Grandad. Posted 19 May 2014 Author Posted 19 May 2014 Because kid's like you weren't even alive when Liverpool last won the league but go on like you're a big club challenging every season for the title and you aren't. Champion league football woo blooming hoo, amazing feat that arsenal get laughed at every season because that's all they achieve. One flukey champion league win in your lifetime. Congratulations you'll never be as big as Man Yanited. Kid? Pretty sure you are around my age. Fluked the Champions League, if that is some poor attempt at a bite then wow, you're going to get one. Fluke beating the Italian and English Champions before going onto beat an AC Milan side with Maldini, Stam, Nesta, Cafu, Seedorf, Pirlo, Kaka, Crespo, Shevchenko and Rui Costa in it.. Some fluke that! Bigger than Manchester United? don't even make me laugh, we're on par, European Cup and League success is the same, 23 a piece. Simple facts. In my lifetime Liverpool have won 3 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, 1 UEFA Cup and 1 Champions League.. Not a shit amount that! But I do suppose you're balls have swollen with aload of cum now Arsenal have won a trophy for the first time in 9 years. I was addressing uncle albert/ grandad / micky pearce / jumbo mills or whatever only fools character he's calling himself these days. Arsenal are bigger club then Liverpool, recent title wins, more European success, alot bigger stadium etc ... More European success? You're seriously not referring to a title win a decade ago as recent are you? lol lol So you think Brendan Rodgers could of done a good job succeeding Sir Alex ? Behave. Only reason they got Rodgers is because the Wigan manager at the time NOW Everton manager didn't take the job. He did **** all the season before last and came 2nd in a shite premiership and bottled it with 3 games to go. I'm sick of morons hailing Rodgers as some kind of Barcelona type footballing god. He's Brendan Rodgers the twat who got sacked at Reading and managed Watford. Let's see how he fares this season with a shite squad and European football and a aging captain who's shot it. He's Brendan Rodgers who took Swansea to the Premier League and Liverpool from 7th to challenging for the title on the last day of the Premier League season. But Liverpool are the bottlers of this season, not Wenger and Arsenal who were top of the Premier League this season for a combined 159 days and then somehow finished 4th, but again Wenger deemed that a success. Quit being a little bitch, if you want to address me directly then I will be more than happy to do this away from a Man United thread about their new manager. Cretin.

Grandad. Posted 22 May 2014 Author Posted 22 May 2014 I sort of agree about Rodgers, although i've always rated him for his potential, he's not as good as people make out. He's been carried by one of the best players in the world, a player who has finally learnt to sit back and make use of his passing and a player who has finally hit his potential. Yes he's been brave with his selections and that should be admired. You could say that he's got the best out of players like Henderson and Sterling too. Nice to see young English managers have success but I think he'll be found out next season. I think they'll do well to make Europe. He needs to get new signings and look into replacing Gerrard. So for saying he isn't as good as people make him out to be, he has took Luis Suarez to a new level, realised Gerrard should be sitting back and controlling games and got Daniel Sturridge playing at his real potential, whilst getting the best out of Henderson and bringing a 19 year old kid to World football in Raheem Sterling, all this whilst managing and taking a club from 7th to second in the league in the space of two seasons.. Yeah you're right, not as good as people make out that Brendan Rodgers.

Some people are comparing him to modern greats like Guardiola, I'm saying that he's not up to that standard but he's done a lot of good. He's got potential and the biggest challenge will be next season. You need to stop getting worked up when someone says anything negative about Liverpool. You're weirdly defensive.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Isn't Rodgers the only manager in PL history to throw away a 5 point lead with 3 games to go?

I'm very defensive, it's just that you have said he isn't up to much and then said our success was down to Suarez, Gerrard's new position in midfield and Sturridge playing to his potential, that's all down to Brendan Rodgers. Isn't Rodgers the only manager in PL history to throw away a 5 point lead with 3 games to go? Yes, if you disregard Man City having a game in hand.
C-man Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Solid appointment that will guide them through the start of their period of transition. Fully, and sadly, expect that Klopp will take over at United in 2018 if he continues to do a good job in Dortmund.
Jordan Posted 22 May 2014 Posted 22 May 2014 Help me understand this, please. I went to read a thread about van Gaal and Manchester United, but now I see that we are arguing about whether or not Liverpool--the same Liverpool that led the BPL with over £97m in competition/prize/television payments received this season and by nearly every estimation have one of the 10-highest number of fans around the world--are a "big club" and/or bickering about whether or not they are "bigger" than their peer clubs? And we don't think that this is a really stupid discussion to be having?

Mate, listen. I'm saying that he's done a lot of good this season and is showing great potential but he's got a long way to get to the top because some are suggesting he's already there. That's all.
