RowlattsFox Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Always going to go for a manager at the end of his career because they want giggs to be next. Pretty sure a young up and coming manager wouldn't want Giggs anywhere near.
LESTA-JESTA Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Oh the irony in the last part and would rather see Man United win.. Grew up with loads of mates who support Liverpool an United and Liverpool fans are feeking cringe
Grandad. Posted 19 May 2014 Author Posted 19 May 2014 Grew up with loads of mates who support Liverpool an United and Liverpool fans are feeking cringe Fair enough, but how anyone from any other club would want to see Man United win the league is beyond me.
xHamzah Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 I respect Van Gaal as a manager after what he did with Ajax but sadly those were his best days (in terms of trophies), I can imagine Giggs taking over once Van Gaal has his usual falling out with the club.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Because kid's like you weren't even alive when Liverpool last won the league but go on like you're a big club challenging every season for the title and you aren't. Champion league football woo blooming hoo, amazing feat that arsenal get laughed at every season because that's all they achieve. One flukey champion league win in your lifetime. Congratulations you'll never be as big as Man Yanited.

Fox in the North Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Oh god, sky sports won't shut up about this for weeks now will they

AKCJ Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 It's more important that they get the squad right. He needs to make a lot of signings.
Fox92 Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Absolutely no point in watching sky sports news for the next few days then. If repetition could kill... Was so bad when we won the league, they were just on "United watch" because of Moyes. A little mention to the champions of the second division.
Eddie Big Balls Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Is he insinuating Liverpool aren't a big club? Of course Liverpool are a big club, but they're not even close to comparable with Manchester United.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 I was addressing uncle albert/ grandad / micky pearce / jumbo mills or whatever only fools character he's calling himself these days. Arsenal are bigger club then Liverpool, recent title wins, more European success, alot bigger stadium etc ...
Leicesterpool Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 I can't see this lasting long, the guys 62 and probably not far of retirement either. Realistically I can't see this working, it's clear getting Man U back in europe again is going to be part of a big project for someone young looking to prove themselves. Look what Liverpool did they appointed a manager on the up in Brendan Rodgers, while United have gone for someone whose probably old hat these days, whose best days are long gone. Klopp would have been the ideal appointment for them.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 So you think Brendan Rodgers could of done a good job succeeding Sir Alex ? Behave. Only reason they got Rodgers is because the Wigan manager at the time NOW Everton manager didn't take the job. He did **** all the season before last and came 2nd in a shite premiership and bottled it with 3 games to go. I'm sick of morons hailing Rodgers as some kind of Barcelona type footballing god. He's Brendan Rodgers the twat who got sacked at Reading and managed Watford. Let's see how he fares this season with a shite squad and European football and a aging captain who's shot it.

Oh come on he's done a very good job at Liverpool. Not heard anybody describing him as a Barcelona stype footballing god? He's playing a good mix of English and foreign players and plays attractive football, albeit slightly naively at times. Credit where credits due
Kitchandro Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 I was addressing uncle albert/ grandad / micky pearce / jumbo mills or whatever only fools character he's calling himself these days. Arsenal are bigger club then Liverpool, recent title wins, more European success, alot bigger stadium etc ... Even in Liverpool's barren last decade they've still won as much as Arsenal, and have got closer to winning the title. The two biggest clubs in the country will be Man Utd and Liverpool for as long as we can imagine, Arsenal are 3rd. If you can't accept that Rodgers is a good manager and has done a good job at Liverpool then you're adding nothing to the forum but that big club bias which everyone hates. Now I'm fed up of coming into general sport and just seeing Arsenal and Liverpool fans argue about how amazing their club is. You two are boring.
AKCJ Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 I sort of agree about Rodgers, although i've always rated him for his potential, he's not as good as people make out. He's been carried by one of the best players in the world, a player who has finally learnt to sit back and make use of his passing and a player who has finally hit his potential. Yes he's been brave with his selections and that should be admired. You could say that he's got the best out of players like Henderson and Sterling too. Nice to see young English managers have success but I think he'll be found out next season. I think they'll do well to make Europe. He needs to get new signings and look into replacing Gerrard.

Rodgers is Northern Irish.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 I think LVG will do quite well and let's be honest the prem needs a decent Man Utd so apart from against Leicester I hope they do well next season
AKCJ Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Rodgers is Northern Irish. I don't even slightly know why I thought he was English Well, Northern Ireland need their managers too
AKCJ Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 Just like to point out that when I say "They'll do well to make Europe", I mean The Champions League.
Eddie Big Balls Posted 19 May 2014 Posted 19 May 2014 I disagree - I think Liverpool will probably put on a gentle title challenge next season but probably not get that close to winning it in reality. Surprised how many people are tipping them to fail after the brilliant season they've just had.

I'm not sure how he can say more European success when Liverpool have won the Champions League and UEFA Cup since 2000.
