European Football Weekends

Heggsy - I've used entradas.com before to buy tickets at the Bernebeu. Think they are the official ticket provider partners of the club. You pick up at the ground - I found the process fairly easy in the end.

Always associated hipsters with the opposite, doing the big grounds because it doesn't require a lot of effort as long as you're willing to pay through the nose and act the tourist the whole time you're there. The kinds of people who come from the home counties and describe Barca as their "first team", probably Arsenal or Chelsea as their "second" and Wycombe or Gillingham as their local team they support ironically.

The kind of idiot who writes a list like this: http://www.buzzfeed.com/austinhunt/21-soccer-stadiums-you-should-watch-a-game-in-before-you-die

No problem with people who want to go to the Nou Camp/Bernabeu etc (and I'm guessing your own experience differs from the one I just described) but I reckon it would all be a bit too touristy for my taste. I'd love to experience a game at Dortmund but wouldn't want to go unless I was on the terrace for example. Give me a ticket in the Aris end at the Thessaloniki derby over El Classico any day.

That list lol

I'm almost half way there.

Want to add Providence Park and Celtic Park but might give The Donbass Arena a miss...

Cheers C-Man. We're flying on the day of the game as Leicester have got United away that weekend.

And Voll, I completely agree with you, and I'll be honest, I'm going purely to watch some of the best players in the world, this is the one time and probably the only time, I won't be bothered about atmosphere at a game :P

Agree to St. Etienne. Just want to be part of one of their manic goal rushes to be honest.

Genoa/Sampdoria is the one Italian fixture I am well up for.

Think Durnerz off here enjoyed his trip to Florence to be fair.

Got another one coming up this season, Hamburg is currently top of the potential destinations list.

Same for me. Mate moved there recently so keen to tie it in with a game. Bit cliche but I'd really fancy going to a Pauli match.

Found cheap flights and accommodation for the weekend PAOK are playing Panathinaikos. Just got to work out if I can afford it now!

I fancy Fiorentina for Florence as a place and the fact I grew up loving them in the days of James Richardson and Football Italia rather than for any particularly revered atmosphere.

Similar extent with St Etienne, developed a fondness for them at uni, does look mad there, mind.

My Uncle is being posted back to JHQ Rheindahlen in October, so will be hoping next Easter to get to a Monchengladbach or Cologne game then, last time he was there I went to Eindhoven v AZ Alkmaar, only an hours drive across the boarder.

Good pick. However remember no way fans in Greece.

After flirting with going St Etienne or Feyenoord, the likelyhood is Rapid Vienna for me next.

Though I reckon a FT trip to Saint Etienne is on the cards. 'Green Magic Leicester Division'
