Rincewind Posted 21 July 2014 Posted 21 July 2014 I have a mate who is blind. He says listening to the RL commentary is like being at the game for him. It may not be perfect but for those that cannot attend for whatever reason it is the next best thing. Even Stringer himself says he is still learning the business. Young was just a pundit used to fill in gaps and give a little banter with Stringer. OK the sandwich talk may not have been to everyone's taste (no pun intended) But it seemed natural between two people who enjoyed watching Leicester and felt privileged to be paid for it. Young was only employed by RL wasn't he? No direct contact with the club. Is/was Taggart with the coaching staff? If that is the case he may be a better go-between. Stringer's relationship with Pearson is up and down although Pearson is the same with all media. I shall miss Young but also looking forward to a fresh voice and a fresh style. Alan Young you had a good run Your time with RL dusted and done Be assured you did not completely fail But over time even sarnies turn stale
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 21 July 2014 Author Posted 21 July 2014 Stringer's relationship with Pearson is up and down although Pearson is the same with all media. That last bit is not strictly true.
Guest MattP Posted 21 July 2014 Posted 21 July 2014 Pearsons relationship is not the same with all media at all.
Guest MattP Posted 21 July 2014 Posted 21 July 2014 Sometimes you just have to respect somebody's privacy. If he doesn't want to say, for whatever reason, that's his business. Usually I'd be 100% behind this but I do feel given the efforts some people went to for him he could have given some explanation. Do feel the reason for him leaving is slightly embarrassing.
Rincewind Posted 21 July 2014 Posted 21 July 2014 That last bit is not strictly true. It has improved. He just seems uncomfortable sometimes which can come across that way. Or maybe it is just Stringer that pisses him off. He was a lot happier towards the end of the season.
Rincewind Posted 21 July 2014 Posted 21 July 2014 Pearsons relationship is not the same with all media at all. I answered above. I did overstate. I was not having a go at him.
Guest MattP Posted 21 July 2014 Posted 21 July 2014 I answered above. I did overstate. I was not having a go at him. Didn't say you were. He is only curt when dealing with Stringer. He comes across as far more affable with anyone else and has given some brilliant in depth interviews in the telegraph with Henry Winter.
