Fox92 Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Just heard he's sadly died. Voice of the results. Legend. RIP.
Fox92 Posted 18 August 2014 Author Posted 18 August 2014 I always loved how he said Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 RIP Sad news. He has been a part of my weekends ever since I was old enough for FT Scores to be relevant
FoxesAreBlue Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Very, very sad news. It just won't be the same without him, RIP.
Haydos Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Made a very niche thing his own. Fond memories of the guess the score game, driving home from Filbo with my dad. RIP
Guest MattP Posted 18 August 2014 Posted 18 August 2014 Loved him reading the scores out, real shame. One of those voices you'll always associate with the game. I loved how his voice got higher when the away team had won.
Jordan Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Aww. It was sad that he had to lose his voice, and this is sadder still. As an outsider, there's just something that seems quintessentially British about the classified results, and I used to love hearing them at the end of the coverage when I first started listening to City games on the radio (via web). Loved him reading the scores out, real shame. One of those voices you'll always associate with the game. I loved how his voice got higher when the away team had won. Absolutely, that was great. You could tell the result from the way he would say the home team's score. He did make an away win sound a bit more special.
Haydos Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 Steve Wilson's tweet is nicely put... "Death of James Alexander Gordon is very sad. Turned what was small chore on a broadcaster's rota into an art form. Never been bettered."
Rocket-Ron Posted 19 August 2014 Posted 19 August 2014 "James Alexander Gordon 0 grim reaper 1" RIP still never learnt to say "wanderers" correctly
