kingfox Posted 26 October 2014 Posted 26 October 2014 We have an NFL thread So as in my eyes & maybe some others Basketball is 100 times better, we might as well have an NBA thread. Will it be Cleveland's title for the taking, now Lebron & Kevin Love have joined? Chicago with hopefully a fit Derrick Rose, be the team to watch? Will San Antonio & Oklahoma dominate the West again? Can an outsider like Washington, Toronto or Golden State spring a surprise? I for one is looking forward to the new season
Basingstoke Fox Posted 27 October 2014 Posted 27 October 2014 I know very little about this in terms of the table but have an idea about who the better teams are. Gonna see the Atlanta Hawks play the SA Spurs in March. Can't wait!
pooleyLCFC Posted 27 October 2014 Posted 27 October 2014 Got into the sport after I went and watched the Knicks v Pistons at the O2 2 years ago, went last year when the Nets smashed the Hawks (but we got to see Kyle Korver continue that ridiculous 3 point made streak) and will be getting tickets for the next one in a few days when they are released! I'm a nuggets fan, we've got a nice deep roster going 3 deep at pretty much every position. It's all about Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried with Javale McGee hopefully staying fit. We need to get back into the play offs after missing out last season but we did suffer a freakish amount of injuries! Also looking forward to seeing Gallinari back as well as the little Nate Robinson! Think its going to be a Cavs Spurs final and LBJ MVP now he's gone back home.
Collymore Posted 27 October 2014 Posted 27 October 2014 I'm a Bulls fan. Joakim Noah is my favorite player in the NBA. With Derrek Rose, Jimmy Butler, Kirk Heinrich and the acquisition of Niko Mirotic they could be the dark horses this season. Only problem is they rely on their defense quite a bit and I think they've looked a little shaky preseason.

kingfox Posted 27 October 2014 Author Posted 27 October 2014 Forgot to mention Dallas. Have made quality improvements by signing Chandler Parsons & Tyson Chandler. Projected starting five of - Nelson/Felton, Ellis, Parsons, Nowitzki & Chandler - Pretty good I must say.
Collymore Posted 27 October 2014 Posted 27 October 2014 Pau Gasol as well as Taj Gibson too, strong roster. Pau Gasol is da man. Come on Bulls!
Collymore Posted 27 October 2014 Posted 27 October 2014 My highlight of the preseason was this comeback from the Bulls. Look at how far a head the Hawkes were in the 4th quarter! Jimmy Buttler was a machine... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dqiuym0Q4No
pooleyLCFC Posted 27 October 2014 Posted 27 October 2014 Hopefully D Rose can stay fit, he looked sharp and quick in pre season!
Collymore Posted 27 October 2014 Posted 27 October 2014 Hopefully D Rose can stay fit, he looked sharp and quick in pre season! He has. same with Noah and his dodgy knee...
zak_lcfc Posted 27 October 2014 Posted 27 October 2014 I've been a cavs fan for 15 years but I don't think they'll take the Championship this year, great having LeBron back and Love on the team, I think they'll do really well but need a season to gel fully! Always interested to see how OKC get on, Durant is one of my favourite players so always wish him well just the occasional off night against Cleveland!
kingfox Posted 29 October 2014 Author Posted 29 October 2014 Lakers rookie Julius Randle's first ever game in the NBA, ends with a broken leg. Poor guy
Callabinho Posted 29 October 2014 Posted 29 October 2014 I follow the Mavs, and I must say that we've made some very good additions!
zak_lcfc Posted 29 October 2014 Posted 29 October 2014 Lakers rookie Julius Randle's first ever game in the NBA, ends with a broken leg. Poor guy Hate to see any player get injured but even more so when it's a rookies first game, let's hope it doesn't turn into a reoccurring injury that hinders his career like Odens did, always sad to see that happen to a young player
Jordan Posted 29 October 2014 Posted 29 October 2014 Randle's injury may well be emblematic of a Lakers season that was perhaps over before it began. The Knicks tip off tonight against the Bulls, whom I think will win the East (if I don't consider injury concerns). Running the triangle offense is still a work in progress. It's a system that should allow Melo to flourish, but our best passer (Calderon), our smartest player (Prigioni) and our best rebounder (Dalembert) are all over the hill. But if Calderon can settle in nicely, Amar'e stays healthy, and Hardaway (or even Shumpert) can make a few more jumpers, they certainly have the offense to make the playoffs. I'm still a little concerned about what kind of defense they'll be playing, though. The Knicks practice in my town and now, their D-League affiliate just moved to a small arena that's a 10-minute walk from my job. With tickets going for $10, I'll probably check out a few of those games (but I'll hope they sell beer there).
HowardsBulletHeader Posted 31 October 2014 Posted 31 October 2014 Been a Heat fan for 10 years now, there's no doubt LBJ is a massive loss and I don't think we have a sniff of the title any more. The only way would be if Wade turns back the clock to 06 and can keep himself on the court and not on the treatment table!
pooleyLCFC Posted 31 October 2014 Posted 31 October 2014 Good start for the Nuggets the other night with a win over the Pistons, Kenneth Faried is going to be the key player with Ty Lawson behind him. Randle's leg injury was weird looked like he kicked the back of his leg and broke it
Jordan Posted 31 October 2014 Posted 31 October 2014 What a difference one night made for the Knicks!
kingfox Posted 31 October 2014 Author Posted 31 October 2014 Another blow for the Thunder, Durant already out & now Westbrook
GingerrrFox Posted 31 October 2014 Posted 31 October 2014 Tried to get tickets for the Knicks at the O2 this morning. Was in the queue when the sold out message came up, the £75 tickets I wanted are already in great supply on StubHub and TicketMaster Marketplace for double the price. ****ing Infuriates me.

I managed to get mine on Wednesday. The process was a nightmare, you were given seats and if you didn't like them you had to queue again. Struggled to get seats on the side of the court in the 4a zone which is the front of the top tier. Managed to get some on the side towards the back of the arena. Think the tickets were £55 then about £8/£9 worth of fees, charges and delivery. Been to the last two and its a great experience, only downside is it's normally a blow out and the games done after the 3rd quarter.

I really want to go again but I dunno if I can justify double price.

zak_lcfc Posted 1 November 2014 Posted 1 November 2014 Rose went off injured again, feel for him he's missed so much time due to injury when he's fully fit he's great to watch, a sad thing to see let's just hope it isn't like Brandon Roy where he has to retire early! As a cavs fan good to see LBJ dropping 36 last night, great to have him back
