There's no problem drinking around Upton Park at all, but still people are scared to drink away from the mainstream areas. If you're just going to sit in a Wetherspoons or Yates all day you may as well stay in Leicester.

You can get a good booze in any of the pubs near the ground so long as you're not wearing colours or in a big group. Always a good atmosphere round there before games and nip for a sneaky couple after to let the crowds die down before heading back into central London.

There isn't a ground in London where you will get your head kicked in for boozing in the home fans pub. If you're not looking for aggro or giving it the biggun noone is going to kick off with you.

Exactly how I remember it from last time at pubs around the ground. Met a couple of Hammer mates and had no problems.

I used to live in East Ham a while back. There is a pub a few doors down from the tube station called the Overdraft. It was always a safe bet. It's then a 20 minute walk to the ground.
