Its amazing to me that no one ever considers that the owners may be a serious contributory factor in our woes for thinking maybe that we were going to survive the prem on the cheap.

If the missus give me £30 and a shopping list to spend at aldis with a few items from the short on life section. Surely she wouldnt expect a trolly full of stuff from marks and sparks?

They are the paymasters. They surely have a financial strategy they choose to work to.

its something that has been mentioned a lot.

they have pi***ed away a lot of dough on the sven debacle.  they are not mega wealthy aka russian oligarchs or arab oil sheikhs. i think a hundred mill (which is what they have invested to write off the debt) is plenty on their part. they will have looked at what is now coming (moneywise) in and decided that this should be enough to see us through.  probably wrong, given the financial start that the poor teams in the PL have on us and burnley,  our position re debt stands us in very good stead should we be relegated. we really should be able to spend what we need to next summer to ensure we get straight back up without affecting our FFP status in the championship.

Could be something to do with Nigel going on record in several interviews stating that he wasnt going to pay crazy wages as it would effect team harmony maybe?

Pearson's comments today re MacArthur seem to indicate that rossler speaking about the deal scuppered it. We all assumed that he was the alternative to cambiasso not signing but perhaps the deal being publicised alerted other sides who were prepared to offer him a better deal ( ie palace)
