AP McCoy announces his retirement

Was just talking about him today on the way to the match.

I suppose there's no need for him to continue risking his life/serious injury. He's done and won everything you could hope to in the sport.

One of the great sportsman of all time.

always assumed he'd carry on forever lol

like kitch said though he has done it all and i know he loves the game but he must look himself in the mirror sometimes when he's trying to make a weight for his one ride at kelso on a tuesday afternoon which he then falls off and get trampled, sent to hospital and then back home again for pretty much no reward and wonder what's the point.

absolute legend of racing and sport in general. probably the best there ever will be.

One of the few people you can actually call a legend. Best jockey ever.

Sir Anthony McCoy.

He's to be knighted in the New Year honours, well deserved.

I bought the DVD yesterday (Being A.P) watched it this morning, was thinking during it wonder if he'd be knighted. The DVD's quite good!

AP and Fallon have an ability to get horses to win races that have absolutely no right to win, lift them over the line time and time again. The times you see him win by a head and think 'if he was on the other horse that would of won'. A proper legend.

Tony to be knighted , amazing job by the queen , 1000% deserved

Fallon would never take a knighthood

He also would never be offered one !

Tony is the nicest man you could ever meet ! A really good fella (apart from being an arsenal fan !)
