MooseBreath Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 Vanity bumps are only any good if you've made a clear prediction that has come true. It's no good clarifying what you meant after the fact. Bookies wouldn't accept that, and neither do I I'm afraid. Close thread. Case closed. Good night.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 18 June 2015 Author Posted 18 June 2015 It wasn't about the prediction or vanity, it was more just showing how much you can get shot down on here and end up being right. I was simply never concerned or angry like lots of people were and when I pointed this out and tried to be positive, people went mental. It was funny.

But as Moosebreath points out, most of the 'keep the faith' threads from March were based on that alone, 'faith', without any clear predictions or explanations as to what exactly was going wrong. Ironically, the posters labelled as "doom and gloom merchants" have been proved right more than those of blind faith. A lot of people wanted shot of Pearson because of the way he was setting up the team and the fact he seemed unable to change it. He stumbled across a formula that many on here had been crying out for for months and we stayed up.

HighPeakFox Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 Attack the guy and miss the point. Sounds a lot like modern politics and media.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 18 June 2015 Author Posted 18 June 2015 I just heard that song in Co-op. Good times.

Smug bumps for me are less about the person getting it right but highlighting the uneducated that they got it wrong! This thread does not highlight the clear predictions that were right but the clear predictions and statements that were completely wrong. Does Bettsj2 still post? I wouldn't if I was him. Forget those that said we would stay up but remember those that said we have 'no chance' of staying up and 'Pearson is a clown' clearly neither of which were true at the time. More Smug bumps please. Name the people that had given up in March.
MooseBreath Posted 18 June 2015 Posted 18 June 2015 "Smug bump", yeah that was the name I was looking for. Pretty sure I invented that in a post on here. Can't wait to smugbump it when the phrase takes off.

Anyone who claims now that they knew we would win 7 out of 9 games after only having 4 all season up till then is lying.
