Kilworthfox Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 The more the situation goes on with Fryatt the more I'm baffled! We reject a £1m bid, we now have MDV in front of him if preseason is anything to go by Also he is playing with the rejects tonight or is he getting some time in? vs Notts county he was on for 5 scored then went on the wing then was asked if he wanted to come off! WTF? I just don't know 1, whats going on and 2, why!
DB11 Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 He's in the starting XI tonight. Maybe we should sell him and try to buy Danny Murphy
dandannieldanok Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Just scored the winner at Cambridge tonight. Thats another £500,000 onto his price tag
He's not bald Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Thats another £500,000 onto his price tag So that's £500,002.99 then?
Anish Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Fryatt - 2 goals in pre-seaon. MDV - 1 goal in pre-season. It might be a simplistic view, but it's enough for me.
RowlattsFox Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Fryatt - 2 goals in pre-seaon. MDV - 1 goal in pre-season. It might be a simplistic view, but it's enough for me. Fryatt scored atleast 3, may have scored more but i cant remember the scorers from the first couple of friendlies.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Fryatt scored atleast 3, may have scored more but i cant remember the scorers from the first couple of friendlies. Nope just the two (I think)
Matt Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Fryatt - 2 goals in pre-seaon. MDV - 1 goal in pre-season. It might be a simplistic view, but it's enough for me. If the 1 goal your talking about scored by Deep Freeze was against Hinckley thats debatable! It's Hayes' goal as far as im concerned (Not sure if Deep Freeze has "scored" other than in the Hinckley game...)
RowlattsFox Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Nope just the two (I think) Tonight, Notts County and he did score against Cheltenham didnt he.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Tonight, Notts County and he did score against Cheltenham didnt he. You're right mate
Geo V Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 The Fryatt situation for me is quite clear. I think he may well leave because he always get the less important games during pre-season and it doesnt seem that he is regarded amongst the best 3 strikers at the club with MDV taking more of the spotlight. Also, the management didnt simply say "He is not for sale" when Wolves came in, just that the bid was turned down. Im not pointing the finger at MA as it may well be Fryatt who wants to leave but something is not quite right. Also, giving him a Mars Bar as a prize for playing well in training was really a ruse as MA wanted to get him fatter
syston_fox Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Fryatt - 2 goals in pre-seaon. MDV - 1 goal in pre-season. It might be a simplistic view, but it's enough for me. But De Vries has a fair few assists and looks to have developed a decent partnership with Hume up front
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 If I was Fryatt I would leave if I was going to be second choice to de lump. He's looked sharp by all accounts whats he gotta do? He's joint top scorer with Hume in pre season.....

We should stop all these names for him (eg. deep freeze, fat etc) He deserves a chance.
Blue Bob Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 I think the team sheet on Saturday will be a good indication who is in favour and who isnt. That is of course if Fryatt isnt sold before then

We should stop all these names for him (eg. deep freeze, fat etc) He deserves a chance. He's had plenty of chances before. We all now what he can and can't do. His touch and passing may be better, but his heading is rubbish and his shooting hasn't improved. He encourages the long ball because of his size (not his fault) and it seems like we're going back 2 years if he starts against Blackpool. Hardly anyone wanted him back when he was outcast but it seems like a couple of decent performances against non-league teams in a couple of meaningless friendlies have made people forget about his inadequacies. I'll be more than happy to eat my words if he plays well and helps the team to victory against Blackpool, but I'll also voice my criticism if he plays like he has done in this division on previous occassions.

lildave3 Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 A mate went tonight and said he was shit tonight but still got a goal. Not sure what exactly he did bad but...
Matt Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 Anyone also think Deep Freeze has got this burst of effort and trying which to be fair isn't as amazing as everyone is making out IMO because potentially if he doesn't make it this season his career is over?! Think about it, he did nothing while he was on loan and come the end of this season his contracts up... I don't know why everyone is on the Deep Freeze bandwagon all of a sudden, I'll admit there slight improvement, but I do mean slight, and we still have better players at out club yet Deep Freeze is as it looks rated in the top 3 strikers (possibly top 2).

Yeah thats a pretty accurate description, it was a scrappy goal against shit opposition. Disappointed with his performance overall, couldn't see any difference from last season to be honest.
