Maybes Posted 4 November 2006 Posted 4 November 2006 Well blow me down. Travelling on the way home from the game today, and thought we would nip in to the services to get a bit of munch and have a blast on the bandits. Queing up for a kfc.....and who is in front of us? MK Dons manager Martin Allen. At first we thought nah can't be him, then we(Me, my mate, bertfox and wils) realised it actually was. He gets his kfc meal then turns around and starts talking to us for about 5 minutes. ABSOLUTE LEGEND!! He seems to have his eye on Elvis Hammond and was also asking about Richard Stearman. We congratulated him on todays victory and wished him well for the rest of the season. Then he wished us a safe journey home.
Bert Posted 4 November 2006 Posted 4 November 2006 Yeah, so as we got talking to him and the three players mentioned were - Stearman, Elvis and Mark De Vries, or as MA referred to him Mark fridge freezer. He said that Stearman was a quality player, didn't really give too much away about Elvis but if Mcloed leaves MK i can see him making a bid for Elvis. He said Fridge Freeezer was shit, and is just about good enough for their level!
Cheese Me Posted 5 November 2006 Posted 5 November 2006 didn't really give too much away about Elvis but if Mcloed leaves MK i can see him making a bid for Elvis. Sounds promising. Elvis is a hard worker but does seem a bit out of his depth at times and with extra investment looking like it's coming I can't see him getting too many more opportunities here. Would be better for all concerned if he moveed on in January to somewhere he can be more valued.
Tubes Posted 5 November 2006 Posted 5 November 2006 elvis would look very good in league 2 with his work rate would be a good replacement for mcloud

Jamesino_LCFC Posted 5 November 2006 Posted 5 November 2006 elvis would look very good in league 2 with his work rate would be a good replacement for mcloud Yer I agree, he could be a great signing for them (I know that sounds bad but he would do well for them).
Maybes Posted 5 November 2006 Author Posted 5 November 2006 Looking back now I wish that I would have asked him about the Leicester managerial saga, and seen what his side of the story was. That would have been interested.
Wils Posted 5 November 2006 Posted 5 November 2006 What a top bloke,he loved it. As Maybes said i think hes eyeing up Elvis :pinch:
SystonFox Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 very nice news. but whys he talking about Stearman for? on a side note on friday afternoon around 3pm i was followed down the a46 towards Syston by none other than Gareth Williams driving a silver merc, he winked at me when i waved as he turned off.
Guest Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 Ahh bless him. He's madder than a bag of cats! He's not in the same league as Ian Holloway.
Wils Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 very nice news. but whys he talking about Stearman for?on a side note on friday afternoon around 3pm i was followed down the a46 towards Syston by none other than Gareth Williams driving a silver merc, he winked at me when i waved as he turned off. He just asked how he was getting on and he said he rates him.
lookwhaticando Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 He just asked how he was getting on and he said he rates him. He must have watched the crossbar challenge (and heard Stears was an emergency striker) and thought 'worth a flutter if I get enough cash from McLoed moving on'
Maybes Posted 6 November 2006 Author Posted 6 November 2006 He must have watched the crossbar challenge (and heard Stears was an emergency striker) and thought 'worth a flutter if I get enough cash from McLoed moving on' He said they aint selling him unless a lot of money is offered.
lookwhaticando Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 He said they aint selling him unless a lot of money is offered. 5m should be able to buy Stearman.
Tommeh Posted 6 November 2006 Posted 6 November 2006 very nice news. but whys he talking about Stearman for? on a side note on friday afternoon around 3pm i was followed down the a46 towards Syston by none other than Gareth Williams driving a silver merc, he winked at me when i waved as he turned off. Gaz waved at us after the Brum game outside the walkers as we were waiting for a lift. obviously saw our city shirts Met Gaz many times actually maybe he just remembered my face
Daggers Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 So this is when negotiations were started? I'm going to have to watch out for your elephantine memory
hairy Posted 22 May 2007 Posted 22 May 2007 I saw Stevie Walsh in Toys 'r' Us last night. Does that mean he will be the assistant coach?
Maybes Posted 22 May 2007 Author Posted 22 May 2007 elvis 1st choice striker next season then??? Does worry me slightly. However i think he just wanted him becuase he is pacey as per Mr Allen the players at his level are "fat and shit"
Simi Posted 25 May 2007 Posted 25 May 2007 I would like to thank BMW for them managing to lure Martin Allen here.
Bert Posted 25 May 2007 Posted 25 May 2007 I would like to thank BWM for them managing to lure Martin Allen here. Er, it's BMW actually. I just wonder if he'll remember us. Reading through that thread again seems weird now he is actually our manager.
