Ricey Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 ...when we start picking up points. The important thing for us now is to pick up points as quickly as possible. There are a couple of younger lads who are doing reasonably well in the reserves who, if we could manage to pick up some points quickly, we would give a go. But we have to get the points first before we start thinking about that. Very good to hear, at last a manager who understands the importance of giving young lads a go. I wonder who the two players are?
Steven Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 Chambers? 84105 Unlikely , but it would be wonderful. :w00t: :w00t:
Anish Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 I doubt a 15 year old would be thrown into first team football!
chambo_9 Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 I wouldn't say no .......Dawson, Sheehan,Dodds,Porter
Bedford Fox Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 Rooney was thrown in young and Chambo is better than him!!!!!
chambo_9 Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 Rooney was thrown in young and Chambo is better than him!!!!! 84199 Am not to sure about that statment
Ash Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 Don't you have to be a certain age before you can sign a pro-contract anyway ?
Jonbluefox9 Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 Sheehan will be one of them. I've seen him training with the first team on a few occasions now. Stearman is definitely in his plans. He seems to regularly train with the senior lads. I've only seen Dawson train with them a couple of times but I've not seen Dodds and Porter train with them before. I'd say O'Grady is closer to the first team than Dodds but he's still behind Connolly, de Vries, Moore, Dublin, Blake and Wright.
Foxes_Trust Posted 28 March 2005 Posted 28 March 2005 Craig mentioned Stearman, Sheehan & Dawson as the players mosyt likely to break through during the Trust Q & A. Dawson is out of contract at the end of the season, so he may want to play him to prove he is worth a new one. We have been short of left backs & with Stewarts latest injury that couls create the Sheehan opening or similarly for Stearman at left back if he plays Maybury on the left again

I guarantee Dawson will play at a higher level than the championship during his career and it makes sense that it's with us.
step Posted 29 March 2005 Posted 29 March 2005 I am sure CL will play the best players he has. irrelivent of age. It would be pointless playing youngsters just for the sake of it. When they are good enough or we are safe from relegation he will give them a chance
Benji Posted 30 March 2005 Posted 30 March 2005 but craig, will they be good enough for the premiership next season?
