I think in Muslim cultures sugar is a vice a bit like alcohol is in Northern Europe, and Sicily was very influenced by the Arab world. I remember making some English deserts for my friends in Palermo and they always liked them but would be spooning large quantities of sugar on them to make them more palatable.

Does the Old Coffee House still have Brodie's Ales? Used to really like those. Used to serve them also at Cross Keys in Covent Garden which is another beautiful and unique pub.
-
Surely the opposite is true

Having a milkshake thrown over you is like a scene from an episode of sex and the city or something. Get a grip people.

Thanks. 1 was a lucky guess, 2 had it written on the sign, I gathered from Sinatra's score for 3 it wasn't L.A. and I swear I've seen that premiere on this before, 4 seemed pretty obvious and guessed 5 from the architecture and languages on the sign

Le Tiss missed one against Crossley I remember, who was a great penalty saver. Can't remember Parker ever missing at least for us
-
Would take Parker over any of them

Farewell Russ. You are crap like Steve Cooper but at least you have great hair and a page 3 girlfriend.
-
I'd be able to read more and would annoy my girlfriend less
-
Can confirm that big Steve Howard is no relation
-
Yes and later one of them tried to marry Mary Queen of Scots and shortly after another (his cousin?) commanded the English forces against the Armada. They're constantly popping up throughout history like Blackadder or something.
-
I don't believe Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner were around then.

One of the great survivors, both him and his family over the centuries. Still the Dukes of Norfolk and Earl Marshall. A Howard still basically owns Castle Rising a short bike ride away from my home, and apparently in that village you can't hang washing outside because he doesn't like it.
-
Oh he actually said it was Launde, I didn't hear it at first. Oops.
-
Such is Mark Rylance's acting skill that he actually made me feel sorry for Thomas Cromwell. Terribly unfair portrayal of the Duke of Norfolk though. I think the abbey he makes reference to at the end is Launde in Leicestershire, as he was known to love the location and wanted to build a house there after the dissolution. I think his son ended up living there.

maybe it makes you fart

Aspall's 'draught cyder' in bottles is like crack. Don't even like cider that much but that stuff is addictive

Nothing better than a smoke and a coffee on a cold, crisp morning.

As ever Wymsey's post is a little incoherent and vague but perhaps contains a kernel of truth. It's fair to say the UK has spent considerable sums of money in recent decades on its quite interventionist foreign policy, at least when it comes to the ME, which has not only made the situation in the ME worse but has also undermined the UK's own security. It's inevitable that people are going to question the wisdom of spending money abroad to ensure defence at home.

True, he's easily the wurst goalkeeper we've ever had
-
If we continue playing like we did yesterday it doesn't really matter what other teams do.
-
Depends who it is. If it's Scotland or Wales then absolutely not. I'd add Croatia to that list but they're not really an underdog. Otherwise I generally agree.
