Happy to admit my antipathy to Wrexham is irrational, but there is definitely a type of fan (late 30s early 40s centrist Dad type, big Americanophile) who bristles at any perceived criticism of the club despite having absolutely no connection to them at all. I think people overestimate how much bearing the behaviour and attitude of the fans has on the trajectory of a football club. I can't think of any examples of a club having their fortunes turned around mostly thanks to fan pressure although admittedly I haven't thought that hard.
