'The perfect novel'. Loved it, and his Butcher's Crossing though not as good is very enjoyable.

Probably the one thing VAR would be universally loved for is not toenails being offside but sending off players whose serious foul play has been missed. But apparently not.

So annoying

I find this stuff really bizarre, and haven't heard it anywhere other than England. Obviously a state has a duty to try its hardest to stop foreign criminals from entering the country or to remove them. That British citizens also commit crimes is irrelevant to that fact. The 'wrong colour' stuff is equally bizarre in Britain considering attitudes in this country towards Irish immigrants and others from Europe, and feels like another example of English societal issues being seen through an American lens.

You should see benidorm

The Celts are generally more popular than the Saxons in Europe

Cremonese need simply to better Lecce's result next week. A big ask but still a great effort for them to be in with a shout on the final day.

Hoping Ascoli do it after just missing out on automatics but they're up against a surprisingly good Potenza team. Salernitana, Catania and Brescia also looking strong, three big clubs for that level. Think Salernitana will be the ones to do it personally.

It is true our tunes are generally awful but we'd probably fare better if we sent Scottish or Welsh acts instead of English.

And you think the playoffs are hard in England - 28 teams playing off for 1 promotion spot in Italian Serie C...

Although I had a season ticket at Palermo for a year and still go to watch them, I'm secretly a bit pleased they got smashed tonight by Catanzaro in the playoffs. Owned by City Group now, and they've got a very well oiled media team trying to hype up the club and the city, the club as some kind of glamorous sleeping giant with fans as passionate as Napoli, which is pretty far from reality.

Excellent stuff. The location was something I always liked about the Whippet though because even though there were city types there it was still Bloomsbury enough to get students, academics and tourists which gave it a more mellow vibe and Sicilian Avenue helped too.

Is Andy Burnham the Brendan Rodgers of politics?

Finished about 2am in Bulgaria and there are vaguely post EU referendum type scenes in Sofia this morning as people wake up and google "what is Eurovision?"

the anti Rodgers

Best 1000 pounds I ever spent

I know an 'off license' in Swiss Cottage that is currently processing 1.75 million votes for Bulgaria which I think might be our best chance

We've only got 1 from Ukraine which doesn't bode well. Think we'll be last

I don't think he possesses that level of critical thinking I do still love him though unlike the majority of Leicester fans. PSV away was one of the best defensive performances I've seen.

Since Brexit Eastern Europeans can no longer do human statue in Peterborough so have turned to Eurovision instead

After this abomination I'm going to start telling Europeans I'm from a less embarrassing country, like Israel
