  1. Can't even admit you're right wing anymore because of woke
  2. Is the city of Leicester a bigger mess than this thread
  3. In what way is it not a coincidence? Because i'd say robust defence against the Patriots is historically not a British trait.
  4. Thanks so much
  5. I think a lot of people in England are wedded to the idea that we can create a very multi ethnic society which is still cohesive and successful, and that is desirable, because having the largest multi ethnic empire ever still influences how we see our country.
  6. Does anyone use a 4G router as their main internet? I need to potentially work remotely from my family home for a bit but the internet is crap, and apparently can't be improved because of our area. Just wondering really how it works, how reliable it is, and what are the best providers.
  7. She is exceptionally dim and media are good at exploiting that for publicity
  8. We could probably join the EU on more or less than same terms as we left. We'd just have to go back to arrangements we had pre 2021, hardly that difficult. Would be a coup for an EU currently more worried about the US and Russia than perfidious Albion, and the attitude of European voters would range from relatively pleased to not giving a shit. The reason we won't is the same reason we can't have anything nice - confused boomers in the shires who worship Nigel Farage.
  9. I think it's something of a legacy and perhaps a nostalgia for Empire that the English think they'll succeed where many others have failed. Or maybe again just thinking we're America.
  10. We've definitely developed that culture in England. Perhaps again the rise of social media, where everything is politics, has created this view that anything negative in society (e.g. litter on the street) is the result of a failing system. But also expecting people to behave in a civilised manner has begun to be seen as a reactionary position, and a lot of people are afraid to call out unacceptable behaviour because they think it marks them out as a conservative snob siding with The Man over the oppressed masses.

    Need to start doing this again #WhenTaken #713 (09.02.2026) I scored 913/1000👑 1️⃣📍178 km - 🗓️13 yrs - 🥈169/200 2️⃣📍459 km - 🗓️1 yrs - 🥇185/200 3️⃣📍258 km - 🗓️2 yrs - 🥇189/200 4️⃣📍792 km - 🗓️3 yrs - 🥈173/200 5️⃣📍2.9 km - 🗓️3 yrs - 🥇197/200 https://whentaken.com
  15. Never? I don't think that top 2 has ever happened. Unless this is half way through 62/63
  16. I was exaggerating for semi comic effect but no I am not a fan. You're right of course that it doesn't really matter if it's Brits in Spain or e.g. Lithuanians in the UK. What I would say is that Brit retirees in Spain often have less of an excuse as they have the money, property and free time to assimilate more whereas economic migrants in the UK often have fewer options and need to stick together. And as you say, some (I stress some) Brits in Spain really are the worst of the worst. I feel bad for the normal ones being associated with them. To be honest I was pretty live and let live about it until I lost my own FoM which many of those ex-pats voted for unfortunately.
  17. Labour win, we rejoin, the EU put 29 year transitional controls on young Brits freedom of movement to stop them all moving to Poland for work
  18. This is not what I was expecting Ian Marshall to say
  19. Shame to see European culture being diluted by mass immigration of people with violent tendencies and weird food who don't speak the language https://www.mirror.co.uk/money/inside-wetherspoons-first-pub-spain-36691887
  20. True. And British people welcomed them and loved them. Pubs used to encourage them to come in and have a pint. "More blacks, more Irish, more dogs" they used to put in the window.

  22. Faulty Towers has been totally ruined for me now
  23. Used to be the Swan and Rushes. That was great in its heyday. Then when that changed hands, or whatever happened to it, started going to the Peel but the rather aggressive door policy started to put me off and my elderly Dad didn't really like the lack of space. Now usually go to the Globe for some food and a pint which is not the greatest pub but is relatively laid back and civilised.
  24. Yeah I'm being careful what I write having been permanently scarred by 2015 and 2017
  25. Bad miss from Darnold
