Anybody on here au fait with the new UK immigration/passport rules for dual nationals? My daughter is obviously automatically eligible for British citizenship as my kid, but doesn't have a UK passport as she lives abroad and we thought she could for now just come back for her six months as an EU citizen. However now I'm reading that from 26/02 British 'dual nationals' must present a UK passport at the border. On the gov website on 'check if you are a British national' obviously children of Brits are listed as automatically Brit citizens. This all seems a little absurd to me especially as she's a baby and if she flies with her Mum only who tf is going to know she's a UK citizen anyway?! I realise it's probably better to email embassies etc but I thought with our wealth of foxes fans in other countries there might be someone who has recent experience or who has also been researching it. I know for example there are lots of Aussies who are technically Brit citizens through parentage but don't have the passport, and are now wondering whether they need to get one to travel to the UK post 26/02. Of course none of this mattered til Jan 2021, but hey ho....

Looked this up after reading your post and... wtf is this insanity? Nearly puked just looking at still photos.

Is Kingy a happy-clapper KPFC flask of coffee kind of player? Just because my Mum (who is very much pro-flask, pro-M&S wrap) just text me with "what would we do without Andy King" and now I'm worried that supporting him will damage my street cred.

I find it really interesting how people will attach significance to the most mundane things as if they say something important about wider society or a specific group. Like 'latte drinkers from London' but ever more niche and bizarre. "I saw someone buying an LCFC mug for their 78 year old uncle who lives in Australia which really tells you why this club is in decline." "Your Sarahs and Emilys from Richmond driving Nissan Versas with their husbands drinking pints of London Pride and holidaying in Puglia and enjoying the films of Greta Gerwig and who ride on the District Line wearing sunspel jumpers are exactly what's wrong with this country". Is this a new social media thing or has it always been a part of English culture, like "Daily Telegraph readers think...."

If we'd finished let's say 4th in 2016, and lost to Utd in the 1/4 final in 2021, we'd still be where we are now because the management structure would be the same. So yeah obviously better to have won something and ****ed up than not.

I expect even Ayew would score a few in league 1. Or then again maybe not.

Good idea, we need someone with experience of getting relegated to the 3rd division

Languishing near the relegation zone, the days of Beppe Signori a distant and fading memory... Some quite evocative names down here - Vicenza, Triestina, Ascoli, Perugia, Catania, Salernitana, Foggia. Some great derbies, shitheap stadiums in cities best known for out of town airports Ryanair flies to, insane fans and moments of brilliance from street smart Neapolitan strikers trying to make the most of their second chance after being released by Serie A clubs.

No doubt Trump has deep daddy issues but he is also typically American in his arrogance, his presentation, his ignorance of and contempt towards other countries and his belief in survival-of-the-fittest in both business and geopolitics. He represents his country well.

One of the issues is that Brits don't see themselves yet as a "middle power" in Carney's words. We still like to see ourselves as an almost equal partner in an Anglo-American relationship that deserves to run the world.

Thinking about it I've actually never seen them in the same room

I find myself watching more sports I used to quite dislike when I was younger, like athletics or skiing or cycling. You can admire the skill and athleticism without all the hype and bullshit. Elite football, especially in England, is like a lot of aspects of culture that have gone global, a mushy slop with little real identity that is constantly shoved down our throats and seem to exist primarily for people to argue about on social media. Obviously there is more authenticity lower down the leagues but it's mostly unwatchable. At least with the Champions League you know you're going to watch fantastic football so you can put up with the nonsense that goes with it, don't really feel the same for Everton vs Crystal Palace though. -
Generally agree and I'm nitpicking here but Fryatt was often a lazy bastard in my memory, especially in 07/08.

A lot of Trump's speech reminds me of Brexiters attitudes towards Europe - you need us more than we need you, we saved you in WWII, be more grateful, you'll fall apart without us. It's basically just a big Anglo hissy fit that the world is changing and people don't look towards Anglo-America to spread peace and prosperity as much as they used to (if they ever did). It's like a middle-aged, booze-addled Eastenders character screaming "you're nuffink wivvout me!" as their partner turns and heads towards the entrance to Walford East underground station, never to return.
