  1. Thanks for the reply. We perhaps naively thought she wasn't a British national yet because she didn't have the documentation. But it seems reading the official websites she's counted as a UK citizen not only through me but also her mum who had settled status when she was born. The important thing from what I've read is that this will not be totally enforced until February 25th and the government are advising dual nationals who don't have UK passports to continue to use their other passport to enter until then.
  2. Breakfasts are what I miss the most from living there, for which my Italian friends think I'm mental. But a long coffee and pastry just hits different man. Goated breakfast.
  3. No I probably said the opposite 😂 I love Italian pizzerias but they need to be in non descript housing blocks on the outskirts of town, if you go to a posh one in the historic centre it'll probably be underwhelming. Spanish food is maybe my favourite in Europe because they are happy to experiment more. I do love Italian food but the whole 'omg nonna would never make it like this' is very cringey and boring. They have great produce though especially in the south. Fruit and veg in Sicily is unmatched. And superb cakes and desserts in the north.
  4. I remember a cross (to call it a cross is to do it a disservice) he put right on Muzzy's head in a 2-1 win against Chelsea in 2001. Probably the best ball I'd seen a Leicester player play up to that point. Sumptuous. Muzzy missed though...
  5. I think simply the internet has for the first time ever allowed us to constantly spread and advance our beliefs in public, and to do it instantly, and it becomes impossible to resist. We are all guilty I guess.
  6. always surprised at the willingness of people to beclown themselves on the internet in the aftermath of an incident like this
  7. There is even a 'Miss Mortadella' competition. You don't get this kind of nonsense down south.
  8. Sicily in places has a similar feel to Malta in its architecture, people, food and even some of its language. Same Arab influence. West coast of Sicily is amazing especially with your own transport. Palermo is fun but a bit spoiled now, amazing historic sights though.
  9. Best Italian food is far down south, fresh fruit, veg and fish. Bologna is nice but very... cheesy and porky? I mean they even have a festival for mortadella which let's be honest is crap.
  10. Bulgaria. It's ok, better than Italy. But very much 'don't call us we'll call you' when you apply for something like a passport etc...
  11. Huth has to be the most important. Maybe the most consequential loan signing in our history.
  12. I was sceptical until I saw this still image from Epstein's island, recently made public
  13. Name sounds like a drunk Brit trying to compliment the chef in a Corfu restaurant
  14. Landlords get scarier the further north of Watford you get. Once you get to Glasgow they are positively terrifying.
  15. It's either AI generated or it's come from another language and they haven't changed those letters. There is no reason to put 'S' next to champions.
  16. Obviously this is disappointing but I feel that if the club were organising something a lot of people on here would say it was a cynical plot to distract from the current shambles.
  17. Baby looks as surprised as they are! https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/feb/02/florida-fertility-clinic-embryo-lawsuit
  18. Caring about everything all the time all around the world is exhausting though and maybe one of the reasons so many people these days are burned out and apathetic to many of the world's problems. Probably better when we didn't know much about what was happening outside our own communities.
  19. I mean we had mass protests here when a guy was killed by a policeman in America so obviously there are people in England who care very deeply about stuff that doesn't affect them in the slightest.
  20. Because every time something like this happens now people need to point out it's not their tribe doing it
  21. I assume you're talking about Pakistani grooming gangs, which obviously operate more in those places of increased ethnic tensions than Epstein does. I imagine if Epstein, Andrew et al were grooming girls on a large scale in a post-industrial town in Yorkshire, people would be protesting. You have a point about Farage and his friendship with Trump I suppose, but it's a more general one. Also the notion that Farage doesn't complain about 'white' people is quite a funny one, considering how he built his career. I guess people generally care more about stuff that directly affects them and their families, which might not be right but is kind of understandable.
  22. "Hits different" being used for the most mundane things ever. "Pint on the way back home from work on Wednesday hits different" well not really. Or King's Lynn FC social media posting "Tuesday night at the Walks hits different" which I'm hoping is ironic but then again probably not.
  23. If you want a palate cleanser after all that toxicity and torrid emotion, I'd suggest Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Very heartwarming and uplifting!
  24. Don't disagree and I can't really get over these people consistently voting to make others as miserable and soulless as they are. So while I sympathise a lot with the concerns over immigration and cultural change, I'm also kind of happy for them to stew in the vat of red-faced, vein-popping rage of their own creation.
