It's very important that British politicians are diplomatic to avoid upsetting a foreign government that describes the UK as a communist Islamist state that imprisons people for criticising the regime.
Fair enough. And you're right, it's boring. But there is a lot of projection and deflection I see from 2019 Boris Johnson voters which I think deserves to be called out.
Remote working at the moment, though not much. A bit of teaching and editing. To be honest we moved back here just because we had a baby and my girlfriend owns a place. Might stay might not. Very very calm after eight years in London but the cost of living is quite high now and it's not an especially thrilling city.
If you do Eastern Europe for a bit maybe somewhere non EU would be better like Tbilisi or maybe even Pristina. Nowhere in East Europe is cheap and easy any more though.
Come join us in Sofia. Nice laid back city and a growing community of, ahem, 'expats'. Good base to explore the Balkans. I'd say attractive women as well but I don't want to sound like a sleazy Brit and my girlfriend occasionally browses this forum.
O'Neill was great at taking pressure off the players. Pearson did too in a slightly more unorthodox way. Obviously Ranieri got it down to a fine art in 2016.
I had the same feeling with O'Neill. In a one off game I wouldn't pick anyone else - I don't think anyone ever got team selection wrong less than him.
But very different managers in very different eras for the club.
To be the greatest you should really have done it at the highest level. I'm not saying NP couldn't have done it he'd stayed, but he didn't.
Having said that the great escape was probably my favourite two months supporting the club and this MON vs NP debate is quite tedious.
Looking forward to a good natured debate on a subject we have never even touched upon!
But if I had to choose one manager from our history for a one off game that we had to win, it'd be prime O'Neill all day long.
It's very good. Quite short and eminently readable. It became popular when it was released to read it and opine that it holds lessons for our own chaotic times, and that was back in 2014....
It says a lot about how unlucky we were to go down in 2008 but also as Cosbeh Fox says above it confirms what we all know, this is probably our worst team since 1991.
Sure, but ultimately this is why we're not getting results. We have an average squad and a below average manager. Obviously the reasons for that go deeper as you say.
