I have fond memories of it for various personal reasons but yes it is a slightly random and not very Bloomsbury pub with a colorful cast of characters behind the bar, painfully shy Taylor Swift uber fan being a particular favorite.
I hope you popped into the Lord John Russell. A pub I miss greatly, not a beer paradise but very nice vibes in one of my favourite micro areas of London.
There are shit loads of reasons, good post from AKCJ above, but also we could've just got a competent goalkeeper and all this would be a strange Dallas like dream.
Kind of hope he's here next season and has rings run around him by league one midfielders and he becomes a humourous meme on social media. But then obviously that wouldn't be good for us. I'm bitter enough that I would partially enjoy it though.
When we only scored 9 vs Southampton. We should have broken the record not just settled for matching it. I knew then that the club lacked the drive and ambition to move forward but of course the flask drinkers lapped it up and bought the commemorative DVD. I was vindicated a few months later when the poor form began.
I like to read Fuchs' comments after Newport games. Very positive, seems to try and motivate the players, talks about improving specific, basic things. Touch of Ranieri about him perhaps. Think he'll do well and would like to see him here.
Or roll in late pissed out their mind (probably 2 shandies looking at some of them) and then try and goad the away support in a really cringy way like some Mitchell and Webb parody of a Danny Dyer programme.
Interesting how many people have memed themselves into thinking the problem with our support and the club in general is people drinking coffee at games.
Definition of 'right place at the right time'. If he was 20 years older he'd have played a couple of years in the 3rd and 4th divisions and then sold insurance.
