Anything other than Etikitie or Thiago is just wrong. We have a winger that doesn’t score up front and the other option is essentially Oscar Pistorius minus the lethality

Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR
Stadt replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
We shouldn’t have lost what we did even if there was no PSR or FFP. It was totally irresponsible and reckless. Top has racked up about £500,000,000m in losses during his ownership. Given we’ve had a player trading surplus in that time it just shows you how they let a runaway wage bill snowball. -
He got booted out of his role as CEO at KP, you would have thought he’d put his time into the football club instead but he just doesn’t give a shit. Yesterday was his what, fourth game? It’d be interesting to see what Rudkin actually tells him

No sympathy for King despite being let down by starting Ayew. Best we can hope for with him on the pitch is scoring once. Anti-striker

When the news broke initially February was mentioned but I can’t remember where exactly tbh, could turn out to be a load of shit, naturally -
'I Want People To Be Closer' - Khun Top Speaks

The increased activity around the time we’re supposed to hear about the deduction isn’t a coincidence imo. -
Amazing we signed Winks when he has a pretty similar profile to Soumare, incredibly short termist. We gave the former a 3 year deal which put us in a tight spot instantly when. Then to compound the error, we spent another £25m on Skipp, to complement the non-attacking, non-defensive midfielder complement taking the tally up to about £57m. At a guess the three will cost us about £120m with fees and wages in total but we are a very small club in the midlands so it’s ok.

If Top *did* sell - who do you think might buy the club?
Stadt replied to Stadt's topic in Leicester City Forum
Barratt’s, David Wilson & family, Sytner are pretty big. Must be some money sloshing around -
I’ve been KP out for maybe 3 years at this point and now I’m excited as it feels tangible for the first time

I’d be delighted with £1m. We’d have been better off playing Josh Knight instead of this dosser. His pressure data on fbref at the tine was low for a DM and Lille played a weird 4 CM system, should have swerved on the back of that. £45m ish on fees on him and Praet, neither to be first choice players. Probably £90m with wages included. PSR didn’t make us sign this shit

We have some immutably good features. 32k stadium in reasonable condition, permission secured State of the art training ground Another training ground we could sell (there is a covenant sure, but we're well versed in legal matters now) More name recognition than 98+ % of English clubs Productive academy Large one club city/county with a big catchment area Decent sized fanbase An hour from London on the train Debt, PSR, deductions etc are temporary issues. A canny owner would turn this around fairly quickly. We have an owner that is dumb and not bothered and his dumb sidekick should have been booted years ago.- 171 replies

You're going well if 50% of transfers work, spending lots of your budget on one player is daft because transfer just are prone to failure. As maligned as Chelsea and Forest's transfer business is, the more you buy the more gems you pick up. Even Liverpool who have historically got it right were happy with 50% (as per Ian Graham's book). 6 transfers at a usually unsustainable 50% gets you 3 good deals a season so buying 10 at 40% gets you ahead (provided you can sell the deadwood like Chelsea and Forest do). Whereas we scarcely buy anyone and still pay too much.

Top said he has no plans to sell the club but he also didn't foresee relegation in 22/23, so he certainly won't see League 1 relegation coming either. We can't take him at his word. Who can you foresee being interested in taking over? US owners make up the bulk of contemporary club sales atm (Chelsea, Bournemouth, West Brom, Wrexham etc). Multi-club ownership is becoming more popular too. One name that stood out, in a literal sense to me was Vicent Volpe, owns Le Havre and his last name is Italian for fox - that's the sort of tenuous link that triggers interest sometimes. RedBird Capital are another perhaps, they bought Toulouse on the back of them being potentially a much larger club underutilised. They've been largely quite successful getting them promoted, winning a cup and regular top 10 finishes. Small matter of owning AC Milan too. Unfortunately Textor seems to hang around like a bad smell too. Then there is alway the possibility it isn't an American at all. Ashley was liked with Wednesday or maybe somebody local.

With Wrexham the interest is tied to their owners, the commercial interest would leave with them so any valuation is based on something intangible. Our valuation would be hobbled by our debt but any owner would be a buying a club that has proof of concept finishing the top 6. Really we should be quite an easy sell (disregarding Top's lack of will) as we don't lack any fundamentals, it's just owner competence we don't have.

In my own dealings with the club it’s staggering how often key people are on holiday. Head of fan engagement was off all the way though January???

There’s almost always an off ramp for shit players, it’s just Rudkin ****s at about every juncture he can. - Overpay on the fee - Overpay on the wage - Means the PSR break even needs to be higher - Nobody can afford the fee so a loan is the option - They don’t take it up permanently - They player won’t take a pay cut - Another offer comes in but we decide we want more - Another loan -Leave on a free After his interview the other day it’s apparent he’ll have no idea Perez, Soyuncu, Mendy, Praet etc left on frees, he doesn’t pay attention

Arranging a trip to go and watch him in April, anybody in?

With young players you have to give them a chance before deciding they’re simply not quite up to speed yet. Plenty of players aren’t that highly rated, end up with a chance and surpass all expectations. Luke Thomas looked at his best when he first had an opportunity, I don’t recall any hype around him but he slotted in quickly and looked the part (initially). I remember reading Rashford wasn’t tipped as a first team player but seized a chance due to injury. The Leicester pathway is to go on loan and almost unanimously impress for 2 or 3 seasons before you get a chance - it doesn’t always have to be that way. If Evans had 10/15 minutes here or there - even during defeats, he’d much further along right now, just look at Page.
