On here there is this reverse exceptionalism that our shit players are literally the worst in the whole world and nobody would ever buy them. It's only because we've had a decade of Rudkin we have this Stockholm syndrome. We saw it in the summer, nobody would possibly pay that much for El Khanouss/Justin/Ndidi - they did. We know Faes is shit but that's after years of watching him make mistakes in a poor team. Other club will recruit for specific position/skill set in a certain budget, Monaco will probably have kept tabs on him in France. Or it could be they just haven't done enough due diligence on the deal but with a loan with an option, it's risk free.
