  1. Leicester really does lack a pub that blends cask and contemporary lager + craft lines. Plenty of pubs like it in Leeds, Sheffield and Nottingham. The ale wagon is the closest to a Free Trade Inn or a Bath Hotel but obviously serves old boys well.
  2. Connections Puzzle #974 🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟪🟦🟪🟦 🟦🟪🟦🟦 🟪🟪🟦🟪 🟦🟦🟦🟦 🟪🟪🟪🟪 Kept reading Advance as a verb in my head rather than as a noun, clicked after that
  3. We lost our previous finance director to Newcastle, we just promoted the assistant. We run a lazy cab rank system because Top is inept and uninterested. He is literally incapable of appointing somebody good off his own back. We need to recruit a manager, chief exec, technical director and commercial director - had we appointed a good interim MD, not just a random Thai he knew we might have gotten further along
  4. “If he just breaks with the habit of a life time and does something useful then I’ll support him”
  5. This signing was a litmus test, it's been even worse than I imagined. Started twice for Sassuolo. 3.5 years left. It was a 'cheap' deal though, that was £2m we sorely could have done with in the summer.
  6. Not a restaurant as such but the Loughborough Grounded Kitchen is one of the better ones (Fosse Park is dogshit).
  7. He’s proved he can’t or won’t do that. We’ve had an under-qualified Thai interim MD for about 7 months. A PE teacher has taken on the previous chief executive’s responsibilities. If we give him anymore time to learn (been at the club for 16 years btw) we’ll go bust.
  8. Swan and Rushes Criterion Duffy's
  9. Top will sell up… to Rudkin
  10. It couldn’t have really been any worse for him. I’m looking forward to Southampton as a fair crack of the whip for him.
  11. I thought the Brum steward might be more perplexed by the banana
  12. Finally got around to the Pineapple, Southampton Arms and Tapping the Admiral, belters the three of them. Had a great pint of Leatherbritches’ porter in the Pineapple, which felt YLP thread meta.
  13. Anybody know where he lives, roughly? Used to be Peatling Parva apparently
  14. It was Perez that threw the Covid house party!
  15. No, it’s completely symptomatic. We overpaid on a player that wasn’t a natural fit at all. We bought him because he was available rather than he was a good fit - the antithesis of the good scouting that had gone on previously. The fee and the inflated wages meant we couldn’t shift him easily. He also went missy in tricky games and his goals came in games we’d already comfortably won like against Sheffield United and Southampton. He’s obviously not the worst player ever but he was shit for the money, shit when it mattered and was “ill” loads of times. The opportunity cost (not his fault) of the signing was the biggest in our history, had we signed a good RW for the money - we in all likelihood finished in the top 4 at least once. He was also that rubbish that wherever he played “he was out of position” whether that was on the wing, as an AM or up front.
  16. Arrrgh Perez was shit and symptomatic of why we’re in this mess!
  17. We’re going to have spent about £35m, recouped a nominal fee on Coady and Winks will leave on a free. We got promoted in 23/24 but it hasn’t “worked”
  18. I have a feeling we breach again next season. It’s going to get worse before it gets better
  19. We spent £17m on Winks and Coady ffs when we knew the finances were stretched. Probably a £35m total cost between them
  20. Yeah honestly, what would we have bought and not shifted without some constraints?
  21. It’s insane they told us to sell more in 2024 and we spent circa £40m net. Ffs. It’s astonishing they think this is harsh. Top is genuinely very stupid and Rudkin is staggeringly incompetent
  22. Did you think we’d be fine in 22/23?
  23. Meant to put that one in
  24. A club with a track record of avoidable relegations is going into a relegation battle without a CEO, technical director, commercial director. A squad full of loanees, youth and players with deals expiring. Perfect. KING POWER OUT
