Toxic club - an inconvenient truth about our fans
Stadt replied to LeePhilpottsBaldSpot's topic in Leicester City Forum
We have a toxic positive section of the fanbase, the 🦊💙 mob who think if we just backed the team more (they actually had plenty of backing) inexplicably all of the clubs shortcomings... would magically vanish? When has it ever been the case that the only lever for improvement was a bit of support? River Plate would be the best team in the world, Leeds probably the best club in England and so on. The owner, execs and players have gotten off lightly for the worst decline in modern English football history. The idea they should have more backing is absurd, **** off.- 182 replies

I don’t think you fall under the gambling commission’s remit

Fan zone type things seem an absolutely dreadful way to watch football to me

Russell Martin - Confirmed as First Team Manager
Stadt replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I don't think they're at all concerned about optics. It's more Rudkin or Top think Martin is the bees knees because they like possession obsessives and he's the most extreme example. There is no process, no shortlists, no whittling down, All they know is going back for the same targets like with Potter and Maresca. They've got their man, if/when we sack Martin they'll be at a loss. -

Kept that one quiet -
I have exaggerated the pro-Puel sentiment obviously but the sentiment that amounts to he actually, if you squint, did a good job for us just isn't true. Generously, his tenure can be given 5/10, its just in contrast the poor managers since have retrospectively made him look better I like nuance, I'm usually a considered and analytical poster but I'm 100% against any Puel revionism, he was a handbrake for a talented squad.
-
He left us in a decent state because we had a good young squad. His input was singing Rachid Ghezzal for £12m and experimenting with phasing Vardy out for Demarai Gray. He was crap, what did he do well? He was the first manager to play some younger players but in hindsight blooding Chilwell and Barnes wasn't revolutionary at all, they were obvious talents. "He transitioned us to possession football" but that wasn't an immutable Puel trait, plenty of other managers could have dome that. It's just bizarre he is assigned the credit for what came after despite Rodgers instantly getting far more from the same players. He was a cheap, crap, myopic appointment like most of them.
-
People praising Puel are publicly wanking by doing so. They think, ah this is counter-intuitive therefore I am very smart, I have a superior footballing understanding that you, a pleb, doesn't. Dyche's Burnley beat us to 7th whilst we had Vardy, Mahrez, Ndidi and Schmeichel in their prime years. The football was totally awful. Somehow Eduardo Macia being our last good HoR has led to this revisionism Puel was actually good for us - or that even more bizarrely Puel would make a good director of football? He was a good manager in France, since he left for England he's yesterday's man and getting worse. Nice finished 4th last year and finished in the relation play offs this year.

Far too easy to play through because of a lack of defensive ability/physicality.

They’ve managed to appointment a manager that even if he does well I’ll still hate the appointment. Bravo. It’s taken them weeks and weeks to appoint a free agent again - we’ll need 10+ signings but likely get 7 or 8. Sclerotic club.
-
Laughing at the idea of that being booed - obviously won’t happen but they deserve it
-
Factually incorrect about being in L1 under the Thais before. He’s a mouthpiece like most of the title winners - a stronger allegiance to an idiot who happened to be there than with the club itself.

I’ll side with the conventional wisdom of other club’s over Leicester City’s
-
Why don’t other teams do it then? Outside of contracted games abroad
-
How many times have people said “why does this matter” over the years and - in fact - it has mattered? It’s a bizarre thing to do, to me this smacks as if LCFC proposed this prior to when it was apparent we would be relegated - such is their lack of foresight
-
Us not signing any frees at all so far is a sign of things to come. There is no good reason not have a few lined up to pack put the squad where we need it.
-
We have ceased to function as a normal business. The club think they’re beyond the pricing mechanism, supply & demand, regulations and sometimes statutory obligations. It's not even sleepwalking into administration, that implies there is a lack of will instead it’s more like sauntering into it. The owner doesn’t have the mental provision to run the club nor does he have the humility to give it up.

They don’t have the competence/bandwidth to sign 12 players so thankfully we will have to play some young players -
Oli has been a Halford's Beverley colleague for 15 years, after leaving the education system his journey began as a shop assistant helping motorists, holidaymakers and families alike. After working through various roles in-store, including as our in-store bicycle technician. Oli completed the Halford's management programme in 2022, since then he's helped mentor store colleagues Kyle an David as co-assistant managers.

We probably could just eke something like that out if we managed to sell absolutely everybody which is obvs never going to happen. He’s a nice lad but this role is too much too soon -
Foxes all time 11, using 11 players from 11 different countries.

Schmeichel Pereira Huth Elliott/Evans Fuchs Kante Tielemans Izzet Lookman (feels a stretch) Vardy Mahrez Keller, Berner, Morgan, Cambiasso, Lennon/Gibson, King, Perez ffs, Okazaki. We’ve done so much better out of Northern Ireland vs the republic. Not much out if the Netherlands or Spain relatively - Turkey and Nigeria disproportionately good. -
November will be too soon. Rudkin’s boys get chopped early like Cooper but Top lets his play out way too late e.g Rodgers, RVN.
