  1. https://matthewcollins5.wordpress.com/2023/10/16/seizure-stroke-cancer-in-that-order/comment-page-1/#comments Poor bloke given a 12-18 month life expectancy from a brain tumour. Sounds horrific. Taking to raise £250k for a vaccine not available on the NHS. Managed £96k which will enable him to start the treatment. The blog post is worth a read for its advice about your own health alone
  2. Ahh forgot it can’t be arsed with arguing at the level of partisan anymore
  3. Defensively a mess though as talented as they are going forward
  4. Two things here really. That you have 24 teams out of a possible 51 in UEFA qualifying for the Euro Champs doesn’t leave you with a lot of room to budge in format. The Tv payments the minnows get for hosting the bigger countries effectively sorts them out of a few years - particularly given the Nations League set up
  5. At our best this season we’d miss Winks and Ricardo out at times, go straight into the winger or strikers and then have third man runner from KDH or N’Didi.
  6. Well done Sheffield United 👏🏻 Doesn’t change my opinion
  7. That's my point - it's societal. This is the fruits of the great early 1990s push. Btw I certainly don't think applies to Scottish football grounds at the moment or possibly even lower leagues. It's an English behaviour trait for me.
  8. Didn't state anything about football clubs being some bubble or their woes causing administration onto themselves. My argument is against LCFC's action which as it stands/rumoured would push Everton into administration.
  9. I am not apologising for Everton. I am just principally don't like a football club with its community links and the affects of that going after another. In much the same way I disliked that Middlesbrough and Wycombe went for Derby County recently (and succeeded). There's no defence of Everton's cheating for me. It's our actions of beginning legal proceedings (and four others).
  10. But why does it still happen abroad then? I don’t doubt your point but I see games abroad with similar patterns of play yet the fans are loud
  11. Their fans have certainly thrown their toys out of the pram about it
  12. I’ve said my piece but I’d just hold one thought. Well a couple. You have to know the hatred of Dennis Wise and Eric Hall from Leicester fans because they pushed the button which put us into administration. I’d question what people’s reaction would be if when we went to administration, we got the standard points deduction of the time and still got promotion. However then Sheffield United turned up and said ‘we want compensation because we missed out on promotion’.
  13. Oh well. If such cheating led to the destruction of LCFC, I’d have the blood lust. As an individual I’m not better or worse off if we get £100 million off Everton or not.
  14. The size of the impact isn’t anywhere near the same.
  15. It’s not isolated to Everton the club or their supporters. The implications of administration go way beyond that.
  16. If you can give me an example where a fellow football club executed an act which made a club go into administration, then I’ll accept that. We received as per other relegated clubs of a parachute payment to deal with relegation. Ten points deducted West Ham agreed it out of court on their own terms - which meant running it over five to six years in their settlement. We are going beyond the means of a drop in division - to push a club to the end of its existence. Ain’t comfortable with that
  17. I tell you why I don’t like the idea of suing them. I’ve tried to pause on it this weekend to summarise it and I think I’m about there. I remember back to our administration. I remember back to local businesses, organisations like St John’s Ambulance going unpaid and staff at the club become jobless. I’m stepping away from the partisan nature of football. I simply don’t want my club to become any more capitalist corporation FC by demanding compensation which is likely to lead into Everton being placed in administration. The absolute hit that would have to the local community; particularly given the new stadium development and the local economy would be massive. I try to quantify what football means to people and it’s not the lust to collect millions of pounds. It’s community etc. Kill a club off or hit them extremely hard throws us with the likes of the Super League clubs.
  18. Have Australia had brain transplants with England? 41-1 after just 4 overs and swinging their bat at everything
  19. Total piss poor shot that you'd see at club level
  20. Watching Sky Sports do a post-mortem into England's poor performance. Then show a montage of 2024 coverage - featured was England T20 first, then internationals and then the Hundred. No mention of the supporting competitions for 50 over cricket. But plenty hinted at why this campaign fcuked up
  21. The Twitter beer is tiresome. Effectively Stanley called Wrexham a higher category game and therefore ticket prices increased. Wrexham throw their toys out of their pram. Is this effectively what we have in the top two divisions? Categorised games - different prices.
  22. Look up the case of Derby. Middlesbrough and Wycombe successfully claimed compensation from. That forms the bases of our claim legally
  23. Yeah baffled what people expect when it’s an already qualified England playing it too.
