  1. I remember that trip sadly well. Had my wrists in plaster. Teenagers at the back throwing shit around. Disaster day which involved arguing with punters on Brauny gate for a taxi
  2. The headline is a direct quote from the manager
  3. Yeah seeing folk complain about Boiling Point when this is the best thing that’s been on telly for the last two years, Season 3 supposedly approved today
  4. Hilariously really how much Forest (and the wider football public of a certain vintage) celebrate Trevor Francis as a £1 million signing worth it etc. Vardy cost that over 30 years later and look what he’s achieved
  5. Nige was a bit of an oracle at Derby tho. Called out Mel Morris at the time and Derby fans hated Nige for it. Proven true in the end.
  6. Soccerway is very off with venues in my experience
  7. Just to mention with Sweden, care home visits were eventually banned. 80% of Swedes said they followed lockdown rules as most of the world. That was backed by the data received from mobile phones. 70 yrs old plus adults were affected the most; accounting at end of 2020 for just under 90% of the deaths. Half lived in care homes They did note that it was a success at primary level education.
  8. Realistically though the question does have to be asked is a single host for World Cup feasible outside of the traditional nations plus the US? Think a few sports have got it spot on recently like the next T20 Cricket World Cup where they've gone West Indies + USA. Sports which have quick turnarounds such as Basketball having bene having multiple host tournaments for a while now. Eurobasket, the Euro Championships has four nominated venues for the group stages and then another for the final stage
  9. Bit of an unusual one but anyone with any recs for Rotterdam please share
  10. As someone mentioned to me, any notion that this was some intelligent on-in the inside conspiracy has been really and truly laid to rest by the exposure of this circus.
  11. Sweden had a good idea because it's Swedish. Customs and culture there differ. Population more intelligent and more responsible. Vast open lands outside of the major cities. They have solitary lifestyle in such areas which is more self or part sufficient. Folk from Stockholm will literally in the midst of the summer leave the city for six weeks to somewhere more rural. Was it a success though? Denmark and its fellow Scandi-countries were better on death rate for example. In fact Denmark in particular got themselves open earlier (thank you for Randers away) This is it with COVID and the ramble on about how was successful tactics to lockdown or not were - there are so many socio-economic factors within each individual country alongside geographical barriers that you can't call what works for one country for another. Brazil is massive but the dense population areas made a minimal lockdown lead to chaos. The UK has a medical care system which was creaking before the pandemic came along (there was a near mile queue outside LRI this morning for parking btw) and it just got completely whacked.
  12. No later than 10 November is guidance from EFL
  13. There’s an answer there and it’s something that UFS have repeatedly announced but folk get a bit uppity about. ie. Away ends with allocated areas for atmosphere / seat down folk
  14. Sad news reported tonight in the world. It’s very loud. It’s very scary.
  15. Don’t think that’s helpful without substance
  16. ‘progressive’ and ‘front foot’ Bristol City are close to appointing John Eustace. Not far off like for like. Don’t why they just weren’t honest and said the relationship with Pearson was done
  17. https://footystats.org/england/championship/xg amazed to see Leeds as the lowest xG against
  18. Caveat to that is what’s the xG conceded? The obvious difference for me compared to everyone else is our goals conceded being so much superior
  19. In a further extension of football chairmen etc, don’t know a lot about the game, here’s another example So they think the squad is good enough for the Premier League. A squad that Pearson built but he also mentions the lengthy injury list which has held him back. So let’s just look at this realistically. Bristol City are 21 points behind Leicester and 16 (and likely to be 19) behind Ipswich. So you’ve sacked a manager because you want to get realistically into the playoffs which are well known lottery alongside talent which also contains as it stands Leeds and Southampton. If he thought this would help the explanation out for Bristol City fans, it really doesn’t. It does the opposite and gives them no confidence they actually know what they are doing. Zero football brain, very Man U almost
  20. Infantino worse than Blatter for me. By a considerable distance now too.
  21. I'd imagine his time spent at Besiktas is very interesting.
  22. Not as far as I am aware but typically it was anti Rodgers comment what got him sacked
  23. Hamza is representative of many. Supportive of a cause at a base level appropriately but doesn't have a clue at the nuance of the whole situation. So you like things which have further meaning that you don't understand. You've got a complex, historical conflict here thrown into a popularist era of buzz phrases and hot takes via social media. Thank f**k social media didn't exist during the troubles.
  24. To give an idea of this isn’t a foregone conclusion (or it is dependent on your point of view) 18 more wins gets us to 93 which would represent an average for promotion from the last ten years. That’s 1.68 per game for the rest of the season which if achieved for an entire reason is 77 points. So still a bit to run. ipswich have a great little run of fixtures coming for them. Birmingham, Rotherham, Swansea, WBA, Millwall, Coventry. Do have a hard spell at Xmas Leeds bit of a mixed bag. Leicester, Plymouth, Rotherham, Swansea and Middlesbrough. We hit December in this shape - well on for it but this needs sustaining
  25. Was thinking earlier that Brighton would/will kick themselves not signing Winks given how he’d fit their system.
