  1. Reports suggested board wanted a continuation of Enzos work. This isn't that. Feels like a big gamble but in truth reflective of the mess we are nowadays.
  2. Got a hunch well have to go Cooper route. Too much baggage with us and with Albion likely to want £3m compo I reckon we'll plump with him as the quicker cheaper option. If you're Potter you still have a high enough stock not to walk in to the immediate firing line somewhere. Shame just my view
  3. I imagine the delay is Potter having a comfortable exit clause in his contract along with convincing him a decent sized deduction is still doable etc
  4. His contract is being passed around sideways and backwards, making sure everyone gets a touch first.
  5. KP are desperately fighting for our future. A big points deduction clearly wouldn't have been lost on Enzo and if reports are true we're talking 6 minimum. If our best players follow and loans/payments hanging round our necks it's a pretty depressing return to the Championship and this time with greater fears.
  6. Should know in 48 hours you'd think. Almost certainly gone. Time to get in our new man, transfer targets, sales and move on.
  7. Independent now saying its between Enzo and De Zerbi. Who knows. Tainted goods now for me as a manager of a squad. Hope he goes and we move on. For someone with less than 5 minutes experience at management tells you something, particularly with his early season comment on wanting to build something over a period of seasons.
  8. Enzo in then...? 🤣
  9. It's a fair comment. My only view on that would be a manager has a collective responsibility for the whole squad. If they think he wants out then you doubt your leadership. I think as a player that situation sits slightly differently that's all. Vardy probably being a unique example in our case as he was an unbelievable player at a small club thus holding a great deal of power I guess.
  10. 100% But how many clubs will openly state "by the way we pick the team"?
  11. Do you think the Chelsea board will tell any prospective manager they intend to pick the team?
  12. So nothing really like your example. Not knocking you pal but unless you work in a high profile industry where your every move is documented in the press and therefore evident to your employers it's nothing like every day folk heading off for a cheeky interview. The likelihood in 99% cases a manager goes because he is leaving. Enzo isn't coming back with a "chuck me another 3m a year Top and I'll stay". Different worlds. Back to my original point, if he goes for an interview with the intention he wants the job all being well it sends a message to your employers and players for whom the bond has been close that he sees opportunities elsewhere and isn't hiding that now.
  13. Do you let your bosses and the whole company know when your interviewing for other jobs?
  14. So Enzo meets them, sells them his philosophy. They choose another and he heads back to us with the same passion for the job? No chance, minute he sits down with them he's done here.
  15. I imagine this story will suddenly gather pace with a "terms agreed" story over weekend. We need to act quickly, likely shift in playing style and the likes of Vesty and JV may not get their expected contracts with a new vision for the team. Early transfer targets key as well. Given the constraints anyone would be having to work with I'd expect an appointment with a view to us being the next step up in their career.
  16. He and we know the Chelsea job is incredible high risk. The offset is a huge pay day. Will he be afforded time? No. If after 1 season with us he can't give up the first opportunity that comes your way then tells you 2 things. His ambition is far greater than a measured career path, if not this opportunity will take the next. Or, we are far more screwed behind the scenes than anyone really could appreciate. The latter would be horrendous. Can live without Enzo.
  17. Whether he's at us or Chelsea next season it's highly likely he won't see the season out!
  18. Not overly fussed in this news. I was bored for the large majority of last season despite the success. Makes for an odd statement clearly but it's how I felt. I think he'll recognise its mission impossible next season and likely to be largely unpleasant. The biggest problem is then a new comer inheriting a squad moulded around Enzo's very specific style.
  19. Negotiating a new 12 month deal for Vardy and Vestergaard
  20. Time to move on. Had some great years and some very average. Good pro, wish him well but like a few gone and a few to go, we need to freshen up.
  21. This smells of £10m plus Cannon to me.
  22. We saw this with Rodgers... public digs at the hierarchy. Invariably ends well so it's not unrealistic to think he could move on. In all honesty I'm not too fussed. Likeable guy, football bores the pants off me 90% of the time. Had arguably the best squad the Championship has ever seen. Not a patch on Mckenna's achievement assuming they secure promotion.
  23. Does anyone have a "Daka", think we're quite unique in that respect!
  24. Mikey Johnston for wba (number 23) looked a very good player yesterday.
  25. If the baggies could finish we'd have been buried today. He got very lucky. I'm not anti Enzo as a person but struggle to enjoy his tactics. We were incredibly fortunate despite missing a penalty. Just shows the margins in football. Had they had taken their numerous chances this forum would be baying for his blood.
