We've tried to survive for years now with Vardy and rubbish behind him. Reap what you sow sadly.

Realistic right backs we could sign in January
Blanchflower78 replied to jayfox26's topic in Transfer Talk
Dropping like a stone and 2 fixtures to come which we expect zero points. Could also be a gap opened up by Jan. Changes the dynamic for those who may have been interested in coming. Feels like another painful window awaits. -
Awful second half sadly. Seemed more interested when we had a nervous energy about us after scoring. Just going through inevitable motions now.

The club are heading down, feels pretty inevitable. But this time it's different. There was a quick fire Enzo project we chanced that worked remarkably well in the end. That ship then sailed pretty damn quickly. The squad lacks quality, is nowhere near prem battle hardened ready. Legacy issues still remain on a number of players and throw in poor recruitment it's probably the worst we have experienced as a squad for a long time. This time questions will be posed of hierarchical personnel you would expect and the will of the owners will be part of that assessment. Has Top and KP reached or reaching a natural conclusion to the Leicester story, possibly? Feels like this time will be a drains up and clear out. The premise will be an instant return of course but behind the scenes will be the reality of a transition. Some will say it's too early for that talk but unless the club gamble and throw £100m + at the problem in January which is almost certainly unlikely, you can't polish a turd. Ruud himself you would think will be given the choice of staying or being allowed to walk away. He may be a novice still but he hasn't built this current crop.

There was a reason we sold him for £30m and it wasn't because we've always got £30m spare if we ever want him back.

We're heading down sadly. The place reeks of relegation fodder. Wouldn't trust this lot again to try and salvage it with a Souttar/Tete/Kristiansen style window!

Championship planning

BDR/Edouard 2 honking deals. May have been hand tied to a degree in summer but you look around at others and surely if there is some money then club recognise we can't survive on this level of transfers.
-
He was pivotal to Enzos system. He isn't in Coopers. Shame but as others have mentioned Skipp appears to be a better option in the current set up.
-
In today's market, age, potential, I think we're currently sat on a £50m keeper. Will be gone in summer.
-
Like we have a chance of keeping him! 😂
-
It's really really poor. Just zero identity in any form.
-
Still, only Arsenal away on Saturday..
-
Carved open there big time...
-
He looks a threat which I wasn't sure if he would at this level. Fair play to him. Could be a big player for us again this season
-
I think what compels it is the fact that's arguably the poorest Everton side they'll put out this season. We looked anything like a convincing home side looking to grab out first win against a severely struggling team. You just sense the lads don't look comfortable or happy under him. Nothing will happen before Xmas I'm sure but by then the damage is done.

We've somehow ended up with Crystal Palaces 2 back up strikers 🤣 #realitycheck
-
Imagine getting back to the Premier League and deciding at the end of the window all you need for firepower is 37 year old Vardy and Jordan Ayew. Wow.
-
We've been a complete mess with CF's since Vardy/Nugent. Ulloa served a purpose but we're an absolute shambles. Just cannot get anything right in that department. Shocking.
-
Think we're all waiting on the same thing now. Bilal confirmed and a late failed bid for a striker!
-
I think we position ourselves to these players as "come here, develop and you'll get your big move in time" It's no bad thing, shame we aren't a proposition to stick around with but we simply haven't got the means to compete. At his age/stage in progress we are a sound option

Fulham v Leicester - Pre-match thread (August 24th)

Same side from us I'd imagine with Skipp on bench and possibly Ayew if done in time -
Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)

Realistically it shows how far we have fallen as a club. Scary really. -
Bobby De Cordova-Reid joins permanently - Official

Smacks of a sensible free transfer, nothing more. Will help plug gaps and the occasional brilliance. The level we should be aiming for off the bench. -
Silence from the club. Could manage expectations far greater by offering some transparency. Seems so many hopes being dashed at present and the silence is deafening
