I don’t think Fofana is good by any stretch but 9 goals in 20 games for Burnley is decent. I can’t see any of our current strikers getting 10 goals in 38 PL games, even if they started most of them. I fancy Fofana to get 12+ if he gets 38 or so games.

This argument gets said again and again, Vardy is literally a once in a generation player, can’t really think of any others who have done it like he has. Szmodics is 29 in about 7 weeks, we’ll give him a 4/5 year deal and be stuck with him at 33/34 on silly money. He might go on to be class and play till he’s 37 banging them in, but the chances of that are tiny, is it really a risk we should be taking with the club in the financial state it is?

Goodjob he’s got a new 12 month deal then

25m + add ons? A lot of money that.

Welcome to the club, we've been piss poor for years now, and there's zero accountability for it. -
Saturday 3 August v FC Augsburg pre-season friendly

Haven't got much time before the first game of the season, need new players fast and also need to sort out the tactics, currently look poor. If we've not signed a couple of lads in the next few days I'm going to be very worried. -

I'm convinced, get him in Rudkin! -
Baffles me why we're not signing 2 or 3 young class players like Sara or Jack Clarke from the Championship. Sara is such an obvious one, 1 season in the EPL and even if we go down we could sell him for more than what we paid.
-
Think we'll struggle to stay up without signing another striker, Daka, Cannon and a 38 year old Vardy will probably struggle to score 15 goals between them over 38 PL games.

Think it was proven at the time that like 99% of the racist abuse messages aimed at footballers was coming from the Middle East. But I get your point.

There's currently 550 points (I think?) for having a ST since the start of the current points system, so 11 years. 14/15 15/16 16/17 17/18 18/19 19/20 20/21 21/22 22/23 23/24 24/25 Unless there was a year break for Covid? But I think we got 50 points for that season as we had to pay to 'retain' our STs. -

Won't make a difference at all, we all know it, it'll be a waste of time to those who actually want to challenge the status quo. -

Current points system is from 2014/2015, first season in the Prem. -
The EDL hasn’t been a thing for about a decade I don’t think, not sure why the media has started mentioning them again as being active 24/7

Those in charge are losing control of the country, and I think it'll continue.

People are angry and it’s brewing. Kids have been killed, police will refuse to give out his identity (rightly or wrongly) which is fuelling even more rumours. I’m amazed it’s taken this long for something like this to happen over an attack tbh. We saw this happen last week in Leeds over social services taking kids from a family, people now know what they can get away with.
-
Don't think this will happen for a long long time yet, certainly not under the current campaign which they're trying.

It's coming mate, it's when not if IMO.

2 year contract and a couple of mill to sign him I think loads of us would accept. But you just know we'll offer him a 3 year deal on 80k a week, after paying Palace 7m for him. -

If we actually pay a fee for this bloke and give him a 3 year contract -
22% for junior doctors is a multi year deal, and historically they've gone on average to being vastly underpaid vs. where they were a number of years ago, although I thought 15-18% would have been enough. All other public services will end up with 3-7% payrises IMO, depending on previous year deals.
-
Seems a bit much to me, people should just be aware that until the players holding up the shirt, we may or may not sign them, that's how it's always been.

It won’t even be that much as only probably 10 games will reach the ‘all STH’ bracket. -

They won’t do anything, they’re happy with ‘high risk’ young people not attending.
