  1. Yeah I'm cheering on Auckland City also, just imagine probably going into this tournament they probably had the same amount fanbase as say Harborough Town. Club size wise and probably level is about the same as Harborough Town. In terms of developing this tournament itself it could work, I think for certain league's in the world they need a proper qualification process. In terms of Europe, say they took this to a 48 club tournament. Maybe for 2029 Fifa Club World Cup, in the champions league 2028/29 teams that finished within the top 16 league phase automatically qualify for the club world cup in the summer of 2029.
  2. Should make things a little more interesting, problem been last few seasons the team bottom tend to be miles behind everyone else. Least this way there will be more of a relegation scrap.
  3. Makes you think was USA the perfect location to host this first revamped tournament, should it have gone somewhere football is the main sport. Likes of England, Germany, Italy, France, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Mexico. At least the stadiums would have been more full or least half full.
  4. 80,000 yesterday watched PSG v Atletico Madrid.... Now it's time for LA v Chelsea... stadium full of empty seats looks only like 10k there. Damn that's embarrassing!
  5. I wont surprised come the next tournament they will push for a 48 team club world cup. Just so they can make sure more of Europe's big names feature, theyll desperate to find loophole to get likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spuds involved. Maybe even Celtic and Rangers due to their high level of support they bring. For me the only way get this to work you would need to withdraw a tournament to go in its place. Instead of the fifa world cup every four years, change it to every eight years and but the club world cup in that gap. However saying that id still much rather have fifa world cup and euros over this.
  6. The atmosphere were in the Bayern and Auckland game was terrible, I don't think many actual fans from Germany actually travelled most were just Bayern fans who now live Stateside. Felt too much like a pre-season tour atmosphere.
  7. Watching the Bayern v Auckland City, why? I don't know... nothing else I guess Two teams on paper that are gulf apart. It's a bit like a Premier League team v a southern league side, all the Auckland players have normal jobs and have had to book all their works annual leave to be at this tournament. Interesting enough Auckland City aren't the biggest football club in Auckland. Sadly this could be a cricket score, 20 minutes and 0-3 down. Bayern aren't even running either. Make that 4! oh dear. Shame as the first 15 minutes Auckland City actually looked okay and holding their own.
  8. Carrick is one those that gets hyped up dye to the fact he played for United and worked under Fergie... automatically its assumed your top manager Rooney Van Nistlerooy Scholes Stam Giggs Keane Ole Blanc All aint set the world alight
  9. Surely not us considering we've hosted a couple internationals already.
  10. Kyle Jardine i believe stating at an awards evening at Heather St Johns like two or three weeks ago. He was happy at Heather, didnt care for the money just enjoyed playing football with his pals at the club. So Boro solved that problem signed Jardine and his pals 😆
  11. With the top six out, you probably see a few lower league teams creep into the semi's or the actually final.
  12. Still be massive clubs involved, I mean Man United not playing any european competition they would feature. Someone mentioned about the EFL Trophy being pointless, which I agree with. I think most clubs in the EFL perhaps except Peterborough Utd would probably vote for that be axed. Get rid of that clubs in the little tier's would love the opportunity to take on premier league team and not some U23's side. For the other 14 premier league clubs, great chance to end their trophy drought, play at wembley and maybe qualify for the europa league.
  13. Boro have signed a four players now from Heather St Johns, proper raid. So we have taken the front two, their midfielder and their centre back. Not going to leave Heather with anyone left. I'm not sure if Heather will be challenging again next season with the amount of exits.
  14. I think to give other clubs a chance of silverware, I would say clubs that are in the champions league don't need to feature.
  15. Frustrating that the team that finished 17th were basically safe by early as February. Bottom three this season gave the other 17 teams an easy ride as the season before. At least back in October when Cooper was sacked, we were least not in the bottom three and seem to recall it was very tight it was like only five or six points from 8th. There was so much buzz when Ruud arrived, it felt like he was just that inspiring legend that we needed to lift us the table and get this squad believing. Instead It just seemed like by christmas he ran out of ideas. The last few months have been like going through the motions until the end of May. I understand the transfer window was the biggest let down, sounded he was promised funds that came. He knew once the board said there's no funds, we weren't staying up. The only thing Ruud is hoping for now is the sack.
  16. I'm surprised at the dislike for Dyche, considering both his last two spells in championship have resulted in promotion you would have thought he'd be considered safe, sensible appointment. For me their are far worse manager's we could end up with... well we got one in charge now. I do feel that Dyche will bring some much needed stability back to the club something that we have lacked for sometime. I get the brand of football is not pretty and dreadful at times, but certainly brings organisation to a team and would certainly sort our defence out. Realistically now we are not getting an upcoming attacking football minded coach, at present we haven't got the image or finances to attract a manager like that. I would have liked to have seen Richie Wellens given a go, been very impressive what he's done at Leyton Orient and certainly a passionate manager the fans would appreciate at Filbert Way. Sadly I don't even think he's been considered by Dumb and Dumber.
  17. English players attitude is they'd rather be on a hot beach partying and on the pee than playing for their country.
  18. May have already been agreed who knows... the removal van is booked for 1st July.
  19. My only little concern its only like three games in and already some players looked peed off at Tuchel, just it's hope not another Capello part 2. It's clearly Tuchel runs a much stricter camp compared to Southgate. However as we seen under Capello same thing happened their and the players didn't seem to take to that regime well.
  20. Should finished 2-2 that's the only positive I can say, can't believe they put var in friendlies!? I mean seriously wow! does it really matter in a friendly if a player is a toe offside or in this it just catches a players elbow. Players just didn't look bothered throughout, seemed to mean more for Senegal. One small mercy is it was only a friendly and that's it for the summer thankfully.
  21. Yeah that's going to be issue, Brentford I feel he's got more control and say of what happens at the football club. Tottenham as you say everything as to be run by Levy and if he's not board with it, he we won't agree to it. This perhaps why it never worked out for Conte and Jose, they were never allowed to build or control things. Pressure will be on him straight away and the fans will turn on him quite quickly, some Tottenham fans seemed prepared to give Ange more time seeing as he won their first cup in donkey's years despite a very poor league campaign. Interesting to see how Frank handle's the pressure compared to Brentford were the fans loved him. Nuno found it hard as he was never accepted by the Tottenham fans and was always against the clock from day one.
  22. The only thing I can say is the end of season qualifying or friendly internationals tend to be dull, players are tired or trying to prevent injury which could screw up any transfer moves they head in mind. Three wins and out of three, no goals conceded already look well course to qualify so at present Tuchel is not doing anything is wrong. He certainly is aware performances aren't good enough and wants things to improve, I am quite confident they will. So not too worried. Even if your not convinced with Tuchel, just think he's only got one more year left on his contract and I'm not convinced he wants to stay on beyond the world cup even if we win the tournament or not.
  23. With it being a world cup year next year, I won't be surprised if fancies going back into international management
  24. Better off selling the stadium, I mean could Hinckley and Bosworth council afford to buy it and turn it into a community stadium. Convert it to 4g then can be used every day, Hinckley AFC could become tennants, maybe even Leicester City women could utilise as their new home. It's a good stadium that's perhaps got to waste over the last decade. Having two football clubs in Hinckley as certainly restricted progression as seeing a town football team develop. Hinckley AFC have been playing all over the shop in Leicestershire, of course needed to spend money on renting grounds making no income bar takings with attendances around 200 mark. Leicester Road been only attracting crowds of 100 or less. Makes you think after Hinckley United folded, it should have been an AFC Hinckley United that should have been phoenix club that formed that took over the stadium and the club may have climbed the non league pyramid. Obviously a lot of politics at the time forced two clubs to be formed.
  25. Thomas Frank seems favourite to go Tottenham, done a fantastic job at Brentford but I'm not sure if he's any better than what that got with Ange. If Frank heads over to North London, pretty convinced Brentford will stick with Danish and go and get Kasper Hjulmand the former Denmark coach. I wish we had went for him instead of Cooper.
