I got chatting with a few mates from work today about the upcoming season. We all support different premier league clubs. Given that I live in London the teams consist of Westham, Arsenal, Spurs & a glory hunting Man City fan who spends more time at Selhurst Park than he does watching the Citizens. Anyway, someone asked me if I was worried for our lot this season. My response when asked this is generally “nah, we’ll be fine. We’re good enough for top 10” but I couldn’t allow myself to say that as I just don’t believe it this year. The only argument i can make for positivity is that there are probably 4 worst sides than us. Without meaning to be too negative, is there anything else to make people believe we won’t get dragged in to a relegation fight this season?! Not suggestibg we’ll actually go down but I don’t think we’ve improved enough and I’m not at all convinced by Puel. Someone give me a reason to cheer up and get excited about August 10th!

I get that. I just feel we’re beibg mugged off because we’re a smaller club than Man City. It isn’t right.

If the £60m does rise to £75m that still won’t be enough for Riyad imo. If coutinho cost £150m then Mahrez is at least £130m. How can Mahrez be worth half of what Coutinho went for?!? It just doesn’t make sense. We’re having our pants pulled down here by a club who are going to dominate the league for years to come. Sort it out Rudders.

I have to say, since winning the league it is hard to give a crap most games now. There’s been a few where I’ve cared like I used to. I love this club with all my heart and I’ll never support another team but they’re not inspiring me much nowadays. Perhaps a season or two back in the EFL wouldn’t be a terrible thing? Contreversial i know!

Where is everyone drinking on Saturday? Local to the ground? Or Central London?

If it’s like for like (ish) then it’ll be Foden, Zinchenko or Diaz. But it could be a CB? Mangala? Arghhhhhh I can’t cope with this shit

The point of this competition is to allow the Lower League sides to have their day out at Wembley. Fine. But, we have a massive issues with our international players in this country due to too many foreigners playing here which forces our youngsters in to the lower leagues. This competition allows our youngsters to play against a higher level of competition than they are used to in a mans game. It also gives injures senior players the chance for some game time. I can't see any negative in that...

I once managed to get tickets to sit in with the prawn sandwich brigade at the KP with my entire family. Walking up the stairs to the lounge we saw Steve Walsh, my dad shook his hand but couldn't physically string a sentence together. It was hilarious! At the time, I didn't appreciate just what a legend he is.

He's obviously going to say villa are a bigger club. We would be shocked if he didn't.

Granted we have had our moments but we're nowhere near as bad as some of the forums I've seen.

Is it just me or does every other forum consist mainly of fans swearing and abusing each other? Maybe it's because we're winning at the moment so everyone is happy, but we just seem considerably more harmonious than most. Now don't you pricks start swearing at me.
