I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the "members" who have contributed and replied to me on this topic today now it's time for football so I probably won't come out and play again tomorrow, if I get permission.

I have not lost. This is the second GE that I have spoiled by ballot simply because I feel none are worth supporting. Incidentally, handsomly has an 'e' in it.

My point is that many, outside of London and the South East and particularly in the North have complained at every touch and turn that there has been no so-called levelling up. I can't see the point of dropping a phrase just for the sake of it when then are far for important things to do.

That remains to be seen.

But I thought people, particularly in the North, had been crying out for this for years.

I see the new Labour Government are going to drop the "levelling up" phrase. In the grand scheme of things does this really matter as a great number of folk will continue to believe they have been left behind in society.
