We had a crap ton of luck last season and during our title win, I agree on the relative difficulty of the opponent though, perhaps you can find one of those league tables where it rates you based on level of the opponent. Of course most of our opponents will have a higher rating than us, so such a table will have our expected points very low. I found this image from optaanalyst, apparently we over performing, should be 18th. This seems to be based on xG rather than difficulty of opponent though.

Not hugely upset Cooper has gone, how I feel about all this will depend on who comes in to replace him. But I dont like our heirachy claiming we under achieving when they havent provided the tools to be more than relegation fodder. If it was all about survival then Cooper wouldnt have got fired. So we know its not a results related decision as he had over performed on results. I will also remind the club ownership performances dont achieve squat, points and results do. If the club want people like me to respect that comment, then they free to spend a couple of hundred million to get our average player value above 19 million. The thing about player value is its not just based on what you got the player for, its based on how well the player performs, Mahrez of course prime example of that, his value wasnt 800k whilst we were on the way to winning the title, his performances would have made it sky rocket. So the quality of the scouting and coaching plays a huge part, people have made good points that we built a world class training complex but didnt fill it with world class coaches. Of course also the balance of the squad, our only EPL quality striker is almost 40. We lost our best playmaker in the summer, and have a mish mash of players as player recruitment has not been in line with the owners football ideology.

I dont think its the primary factor, but that they came out and said that shows how delusional they are, we are actually currently over achieving. We could have beaten those teams as much as could have lost the games we won. Football is swings and roundabouts.
-
We will find out, if surviving is what Top has as #1, I expect someone like Moyes, if its fancy football, it will be some young up and coming manager.
-
Its on sky sports website, it has as much credibility as the players disconnect.
-
The club apparently have leaked to the press they think we should be higher up the table, hence me posting the squad value table. Performances have been ok against teams around us, including ones with much higher squad value such as Palace. If they think we should have performed better vs Chelsea they delusional. I think the real reason for the sacking is Top cant tolerate that we not playing like Man City and the disconnect with the fans, its a combination of those two things.

Yeah, looking at people putting him higher up really does show people put tippy tappy above results. The only thing going for the guy is he had principles on style, sadly those principles had us right at the bottom of the championship with an expensive championship squad. More of a looker I suppose.
-
I will bite, this is based on value of squad relative to competitors, circumstances when taking job etc. 1. Pearson 2. Ranieri 3. Sven 4. Puel 5. Rodgers 6 Shakespeare 7 Enzo 8 Cooper 9 Smith 10. Souza - how anyone can put cooper below this clown I dont know.

How on earth do you get on the brink of a PSR charge, whilst devaluing your squad, club has been run really well.
-
Thought I would post this to knock some heads together and provide a reality check, this includes you mr Top. If you think we should be higher up the table, how about spending something to support your theory. We were at one point in a great position but I think far too many people have assumed other teams stand still, and not realised other clubs have improved their own positions relative to ourselves. This applies both to the ownership of the club and a significant portion of our fan base.

He was at fault for Forests first goal, and never broke out of his defensive position against Ipswich. Any mobility seems gone. Ricardo was really awesome in his prime, but he didnt impress the chances he had this season.
-
The problem with any sale is I suspect KP will value the club very highly, probably at least a few hundred million, wouldnt surprise me if more than half a billion. I too would accept a change of football director roles, the problem is the only way I see Rudkin getting upgraded is a new owner.

YET ANOTHER INTERNATIONAL BREAK
Chrysalis replied to Always Next Year's topic in Leicester City Forum
League's are supposed to be relentless. Far too many international breaks. The womens game is probably how they want the mens game to be, womens game seems to be less than half games are league games. -
Lack of strikers is nothing to do with being able to get it out out of our own third, the team can barely get 2 passes together and for most of every game I have watched cant get out of their own half. Everything Kirk coached to improve them is gone. The scorelines are misleading in our favour, the performances are on the level of 3 or 4 nil defeats.
-
Wow, putting the pieces together. Foxes Trust, has a too cushy behaviour with the club. The club start to see fans are calling for a change of leadership at the foxes trust, and their guy is in trouble. The FAB is setup and yes the guy dethroned manages to be shortlisted and placed on it. I can see what you just said playing out.
-
If I remember right O Brien has been very injury prone?
-
Its unfortunate, but we cant even get it up to the striker right now. That performance against Arsenal some have brought up, it turns out Arsenal are having a bad season as well.
-
I know I may be alone in this. But I think we are weaker with Ricardo in and Justin out, Justin bombs forward a lot, and seen none of that from Ricardo, dont know if his legs not good enough for that anymore or something else I dont know, but he has weakened the team in my view, Ricardo is better if you want a slow tempo passing game. Curious who our fans will blame for Ipswich goal, as our two nearest players are both fans favourites Fatawa and Ricardo. The scapegoat wasnt on the pitch. I also think we looked a new team when Ayew came on, Ayew not scared to shoot whenever is a chance, Cooper it feels like he is being affected by the fans, or maybe the ownership of the club has had a word, because he seems to have lost faith with the players he used earlier in the campaign. Soumare also showed great belief and energy as well. I am in and out with this post, as the negativity on the forum surrounding Cooper I find unbearable, its the reason I havent been around the last few days. So if anyone quotes me I probably wont reply.

Sorry need to call this one out, the first goal conceded happened in the period of play after Ricardo lost possession, I will also add it was an unforced error as he wasnt even under pressure. The first goal has been really interesting, as despite Ricardo being at fault many people blamed JJ anyway. A few have admitted they did see it after I pointed out Ricardo's mistake but they let it go, I expect people are watching JJ like a hawk every game now as well.
-
Probably go through 30 defenders as well, as every time we concede a goal we would need to replace one.
-
Hard to argue with any of that, he has been a disappointing signing, probably awful luck on timing of his first injury, but as you said Vesty a player we already had and hated at the time made the place his own, and every time he got an appearance he struggled to do enough to hold the place.
-
It reminds us he is human and not superman. At this point its looking forward to the next game really.
-
I think the issue is people not being consistent, who is to blame for the loss, who knows, ultimately the manager takes responsibility, but that goes for the wins as well. But right now we have people flip flopping on things more often than a heated frying pan spits. We were told a certain way of playing and line up is the key to success. Now suddenly some kind of amnesia has occurred.
-
Probably his first game where I feel he got things wrong.
-
So when we win its despite of him, when we lose its down to him. Great logic right there. We also played in a way most people were begging for and with the start line up they wanted.
