Rubbish Any time off will be planned for and covered. And the proposal is "for consideration". It's not a thing right now. I doubt it would be fully taken up. It's designed to allow the employer to apply the equal right to male staff that applies to female staff. If it was the other way round, it would be seen as a positive step towards equality for women in the workplace. Also, paid leave doesn't mean full pay for a year. After 6 months it goes to half pay, as does every other long term absence and is constantly under review through occupational health and HR.

Uber isn't local to Hinckley unless they're in the area due to another drop off. We've tried Uber a few times and although the bookings were accepted at first and a time of pick up was given, they were cancelled within minutes.

Reading through this thread, I get a bit wary of all the "we've won it/we're not even at our best/wait until we really start playing/we're gonna piss the league" comments. Sure, we are top of the (poor) league but I never like to be over-confident. A lot can happen between now and next May. For now, I'm just enjoying most, but not all, of what I am seeing. I think it's in our own and Maresca's hands to win the league. other teams will have their purple patches and become a threat to our expectations. I hope we don't let that get to us. I'm confident in our manager to keep the positivity going even when some on FT don't.

This. Under Rodgers we tried something similar but then rarely got the ball forward from our defence and we seemed to lack the confidence to play out from the back and then just played it repeatedly sideways and back. At least now, despite Mads error, we seem to be getting to grips with this style and as you say, it draws the opposition front line onto us, leaving space behind and in midfield.

Landing in a field in a mountain field in South America in bad weather, probably deserves a bit of celebration. Landing in Alicante in the summer, not so much.

Went a bit further afield today. Swinford, The Chequers. Nice enough. A genuine basic village pub that does basic pub food but... I ordered a "small" bowl of scampi and a side of chips. There was 18 scampi in a bowl and a basket of chips that would have been enough for 3 people. £8:50. Mrs P had a ham salad that was beyond expectations. 3 THICK, carved off the bone slices of ham, a freshly boiled egg, a leafy salad, pickle and coleslaw. £6:50 That's what I call value for money. Nothing pretentious or gastro. Just "fill yer boots".

Rising Sun has shut it's kitchen due to cost of gas etc. Was a good food place and we've been there several times, Now all they can offer is cheese and onion cobs. We will add the Unicorn and The Windmill to our list. Thank you. Both Pricey and more gastro than casual but thanks.

Thanks mate. I think Fourwards is a restaurant rather than a pub. Sickies in Burbage is nice and the addition of Peppervine is good. Yet to try it since that addition. It used to be good as a basic pup grub place.

Mrs P and I go out for a light bar lunch every Saturday. We live in Hinckley and are now struggling to find somewhere rural that is good, independent and isn't miles away. I know it would be helpful if I could give you the venues we've visited so you guys don't suggest places we've already tried but that would be difficult. I'd just appreciate your suggestions and I'll look at those that we haven't been to. Hopefully no generic chain pubs.
