Not sure, I know management wasn’t really his priority a few years ago but international is obviously much less demanding than club management. So I guess if they do well and he feels they have some good talent coming through over the next 4 years he might stick around, but I’d imagine if the right club offer comes in he might call it a day, even if he stayed at Austria, an advisory role could work alongside it maybe? I'd love to see a really chaotic Klopp/Rangnick style system here, straight from the Red Bull playbook (I'd happily see us become RB Leicester over King Power, Red Bull please buy us if you're reading this) But we would need to really adopt that over the summer rather than right now, this system requires players to really understand the system and know when to press, and requires players with good agility and stamina to press effectively, so it wouldn't work right now. The big issue right now, is that it's the job of the club to set out a blueprint, then the job of the staff to follow it, the problem is, the board/ownership are not capable of building a good foundation, previously it was Pearson who developed that foundation and Puel revitalised it. Right now we need a strong manager to come in, kick over a few tables and set the club back onto the right path, signing young, hungry players who have a point to prove and will run through walls for the club, the manager needs the freedom to bring in like minded staff, and as a club we should be nurturing those staff members for internal promotions. The assistant manager should not just be an assistant manager who leaves the moment the manager gets sacked, the assistant manager should be a viable option to take over and continue the work, much like Keith Andrews has done at Brentford, and how Red Bull bring through coaches and managers through their network of clubs. LCFC should not just be trying to develop players, we need to develop coaches too. None of this is possible with the clownshow we have running the club, we need to somehow find a Pearson style manager, or bring in a Rangnick style Director of Football/Technical Director.

At this point I'd take him. I'd imagine he has a pretty extensive knowledge of the best youth players in the country that are not quite breaking into the U21's but have huge potential, would also give us a bit more of a pull for some of the U21 players who are fringe at their clubs and need game time.

Finally. I was suckered into buying into this garbage football because the promise was that he would promote an attacking form of control with chaos and excitement. He delivered what 95% of these possession obsessed managers deliver. Boring, predictable football. Let’s drop this 8 year failed experiment and focus on the football that made us successful, hard grafting, hard pressing, counter attacking football. Or if we want to switch it up a bit, go full German heavy metal Gegenpressing. Make LCFC exciting again.

Yeah I completely get that, but OGS did say he would come to the champ for the right project, this summer we will be in a big reset position. I also think we need to go for some of these pie in the sky names, Bielsa would never have joined Leeds if they didn't go for him, Cambiasso to us. We are in trouble right now, but we are weathering the storm and hopefully if we are sensible (LOL) we can get back on a decent footing. Robins would be a great appointment though.

I wouldn't be against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tbh. He's got a great attitude, has high standards, United fans often comment how he produced the best football they've seen since Fergie. Not the biggest success at united in terms of the league progression as they were struggling when he left, but in his 2 full seasons finished third and second, and they have arguably gone backwards since he left. He's hit and miss but I'd take him over MC.

NP as interim with a position as Technical Director would be the priority right now, sadly can't see it happening due to his reported health struggles, but if it was on the table i'd make him #1.

I was thinking about this Recently, I cannot see him coming here in a month of sundays, but he comes across as the sort of manager that would take on a shock project like us, he's a proud Englishman and doesn't come across as having a big ego. I think just the sheer fact that he is constantly linked with massive jobs mean he's well out of reach right now, and I absolutely detested the football he knocked up for England at times, but he's definitely a builder. I can see his next job not being a massive name.

Not all managers I want, but throwing a list of names at the wall. If I had to pick one right now, I'd probably go for Tony Mowbray on an interim, but if the club needed a realistic manager who was available on a free and also wanted a 3 year deal, i'd go with Hassenhuttl, if we could get any of the Pie In the Sky managers it would be a Bielsa/Cambiasso moment. True, but I'd back a boat load of managers to get more out of the collective, and i'd back a boatload of managers not to continue to reward lazy players who barely break a sweat. I'd also expect us not to be in the bottom 3 for stats like ground covered.

I understand the point, but the idea that the best manager in the world couldn't get a better tune out of this squad does both a massive disservice to elite manager, and massively overinflates Marti's ability. You're maybe not trying to, but you're effectively removing any blame from Marti and suggesting his capacity to get the most out of this group is on par with the likes of Pep & Ancelotti etc.

So glad I didn't bother to watch. I won't watch a single minute more of us whilst Marti is in charge.

I'm trying to run through all the scenarios in my head of how this will go, the confidence seems rock bottom, half the squad do not care at all, if we get 8+ points deducted, we genuinely could be at risk of going down, it will collapse us. I'm trying to work out whether it would be more beneficial to sack him now and let a new manager try to galvanise us before the deduction, or do we wait until the deduction, then try to bring someone with a bit of character in?

All I want is Klopp/Red Bull style Gegenpressing, heavy metal football. Just look at the turnaround Rohl has given to Rangers, 13 points off the top, now they are well and truly in the title fight. He has one of the best squads in the league, but tactically he has not yet revolutionised the brainwashing that Martin was instilling in them, at times they still try to default to "control" when Rohl wants high press, but he's got the basics right and he's forcing them to run. I've fallen out of love with football because of the way the game has been going over the years, so many teams are obsessed with this awful football. Can it look good? Yes, sometimes, are the majority of managers good enough to actually deliver this football in an exciting way? No, it's slow and predictable, and more often than not becomes "control" for the sake of control, and teams just sit deep to counter it. If we wanted to bring someone in tomorrow as a 2-3 year project, I would quite like to see Hassenhuttl given the job. He doesn't take any messing around; he demands effort, and anyone not complying will be gone, unlike Marti, who spent most of this season rewarding a complete lack of effort. Every single match I find myself caring less and less about this club. I just don't really look forward to watching us anymore.

Do not give this coach a single penny to sign anyone on a permanent deal, unless JJ hits his head and decides to join. Any signing under this coach should be a loan deal.

I'm always trying to look to the future with an eye on what kind of foundation/style we need to build, I prefer heavy metal gegenpressing style football that you see under managers like Klopp, but at this point, I think the club just needs a manager with the bottle to go in and headbutt someone, put the fear of god into these players and make it clear if they ever try to overstep the mark, ever think about not running that extra yard, the manager will headbutt them. F style, we need a foundation of players that give a shit.

This. I was hammered for saying during the first Sheffield United game that if you offered me a 10-0 loss in order to sack Marti i'd have taken it. He's costing us more than he's gaining us by hanging on week after week.

If he survives this, I'm done until he's gone.
