  1. True, but I'd back a boat load of managers to get more out of the collective, and i'd back a boatload of managers not to continue to reward lazy players who barely break a sweat. I'd also expect us not to be in the bottom 3 for stats like ground covered.
  2. I understand the point, but the idea that the best manager in the world couldn't get a better tune out of this squad does both a massive disservice to elite manager, and massively overinflates Marti's ability. You're maybe not trying to, but you're effectively removing any blame from Marti and suggesting his capacity to get the most out of this group is on par with the likes of Pep & Ancelotti etc.
  3. So glad I didn't bother to watch. I won't watch a single minute more of us whilst Marti is in charge.
  4. I'm trying to run through all the scenarios in my head of how this will go, the confidence seems rock bottom, half the squad do not care at all, if we get 8+ points deducted, we genuinely could be at risk of going down, it will collapse us. I'm trying to work out whether it would be more beneficial to sack him now and let a new manager try to galvanise us before the deduction, or do we wait until the deduction, then try to bring someone with a bit of character in?
  5. All I want is Klopp/Red Bull style Gegenpressing, heavy metal football. Just look at the turnaround Rohl has given to Rangers, 13 points off the top, now they are well and truly in the title fight. He has one of the best squads in the league, but tactically he has not yet revolutionised the brainwashing that Martin was instilling in them, at times they still try to default to "control" when Rohl wants high press, but he's got the basics right and he's forcing them to run. I've fallen out of love with football because of the way the game has been going over the years, so many teams are obsessed with this awful football. Can it look good? Yes, sometimes, are the majority of managers good enough to actually deliver this football in an exciting way? No, it's slow and predictable, and more often than not becomes "control" for the sake of control, and teams just sit deep to counter it. If we wanted to bring someone in tomorrow as a 2-3 year project, I would quite like to see Hassenhuttl given the job. He doesn't take any messing around; he demands effort, and anyone not complying will be gone, unlike Marti, who spent most of this season rewarding a complete lack of effort. Every single match I find myself caring less and less about this club. I just don't really look forward to watching us anymore.
  6. Do not give this coach a single penny to sign anyone on a permanent deal, unless JJ hits his head and decides to join. Any signing under this coach should be a loan deal.
  7. I'm always trying to look to the future with an eye on what kind of foundation/style we need to build, I prefer heavy metal gegenpressing style football that you see under managers like Klopp, but at this point, I think the club just needs a manager with the bottle to go in and headbutt someone, put the fear of god into these players and make it clear if they ever try to overstep the mark, ever think about not running that extra yard, the manager will headbutt them. F style, we need a foundation of players that give a shit.
  8. This. I was hammered for saying during the first Sheffield United game that if you offered me a 10-0 loss in order to sack Marti i'd have taken it. He's costing us more than he's gaining us by hanging on week after week.
  9. If he survives this, I'm done until he's gone.
  10. Not my first choice, but a monumental upgrade.
  11. I'm more excited about steam cleaning the oven than watching us. 8 years of this garbage football.
  12. Give Roy Keane the job and a pair of fcking boxing gloves.
  13. It's the thought that counts mate
  14. Playing very well so far. Needed this all season, this is what should be expected as a regular performance.
  15. Thomas could break down an attack even if it was a penalty.
  16. Having listened to Rosenior speak (agree with others it was a little bit "linkedin"), he does have substance, and having watched them against Charlton and looking at their patterns of play, I might look very silly here which wouldn't be out of the usual, but I think Rosenior will take Chelsea to a whole new level. Can see Andrey Santos becoming a bit of a machine alongside Caicedo. They could be the best midfield pairing in the league imo.
  17. Yep, completely accept that an interim may come in and continue the decline, but i'm of the opinion that we should gamble. I'd rather gamble on a brighter future than continue a proven path of decline. Plenty of managers are absolutely miles ahead of MC. I'd bring in Mowbray as an interim, but there are lists of managers many have put forward in the replacements thread.
  18. Even if Jake isn't yet good enough, why is Marti regressing his future by not sending him on loan? Newport could take him tomorrow.
  19. Possibly, i'm just sick of watching us put in 3 poor performances, and then scraping a win and Marti getting another 3 games. He's cost us far more than he's benefited us with his management skills. If that continues, we go into a much harder league next season. We could be here for 10 years if we don't go up this season, if losing a cup game means we change manager, I will take it. If you prefer us to inconsistently scrape a point here and there and end up in a relegation fight if the deduction is bad, that's up to you, because that is the only way we are going, based on the mountain of evidence we have.
  20. Do not care. I'd rather lose now and rip the bandaid off than continue to let Marti buy himself 2 more weeks after a win, only to throw points away in the league. If losing this game in the cup meant we can get rid of him and potentially score more points in the league as a result, i'd take it every single day. I do not "want" us to lose this match, it's just an offer i'd take. Keeping Marti until the end of the season will imo cost us far more than if we brought in someone like Mowbray on an interim basis.
  21. So sick of this. If you offered me a late cheltenham shock win and sacking Marti as a result right now, i'd take it 1000 times out of 1000. Clown.
  22. If it's until the end of the season with a view to extend in summer if he hits the ground running, it may be okay. Rumoured to be on 50k a week, if we offer 35k and move Faes/Winks on in January I'd accept that as we need a goalscorer NOW. This MUST be an exception though, this is not the sort of profile we should be going for, but we are desperate for someone.
  23. They are not instructed to run, the system doesnt demand that they run.
  24. My boycott is going to extend to any form of watching us now. I just cba with how lifeless we are, there are so many things I can be doing with my time that don't involve putting myself through that garbage every week. We are 4 points off playoffs and it feels like we are 44 points off. Awful in every single aspect. I just cba to watch us with MC here, boring beyond belief.
  25. Leeds wasted their time and landed a whale, just as we did with Cambiasso who was absolutely miles above where we were. Cambiasso turned down Valencia for us if I remember rightly? I don't see it as a waste of time, I think we should always be pushing the boundaries of where we sit currently.
