Marti compounded the problems.

3 weeks ago, we were still only 4 points off the playoff spots, with a 6-point deduction that put us 10 points off the playoffs with half of the season to play, and a team with more than enough individuals to compete with the likes of bloody Wrexham. I first started to talk about Marti being a bust around game 6 when it was obvious to me that we were entering the "when it clicks we will be fine" territory, with absolutely zero evidence that Marti knew how to make it click, but that was too early to properly call for the guy to lose his job as we were sat in about 4th or something, by game 10 it was blindly obvious this guy was a dud, yet again, King Power have done what they do best and cling on out of pure copium, desperately hoping we suddenly go on a massive run of wins. Reality doesn't work that way. If we had sacked Marti just 4 weeks ago, we could genuinely now be talking about a Top 6 push, unlikely? Sure, but more than possible given how inconsistent this league is. Once again, this incompetent owner and incompetent board leave it too late, and now we face a 15-point mountain to climb if we get a 6-point deduction, and we now face potentially years in this division. This season was the absolute best chance we had of saving the club's finances. My love for this sport in general is waning, and my love for LCFC is declining rapidly alongside it. I watch sport to be entertained, I haven't been consistently entertained since Rodgers first 18 months in charge almost 6 years ago.

Yeah I cannot see it happening personally. I'm not sure I want it to happen, but if it did i've no doubt it's a better position than we sit in this morning. Huge risk for him, but if he did come in and immediately turn us around, that would give him a huge boost for his next role in the summer which could easily be a team like Spurs.

Eugh, trying to be realistic here, if we managed to get Enzo in our current position it's a huge coup. If it's a multi year deal and he actually wants to stay here to rebuild, then I think we have to snap his arm off to save the club. The recruitment would no doubt massively improve and we could probably trust him with the limited funds we have at this level, the funds themselves would limit his capacity to spend big. But by god I am not looking forward to sideways ball again, especially with a squad so devoid of direction, talent and attitude. This is a very different squad to the one he left. He's the absolute best we could do in terms of an immediate solution, but I just cannot get excited by the idea of watching his football again.

Is he a monumental improvement to our situation? Yes. Do I want to watch his football? Hell no.

I will not watch this club if Martin is announced. I cannot deal with sideways ball a second longer. If Martin is announced I’ll just watch Bournemouth until we wake up.

Hassenhuttl IN.

I don’t think he’s ready to pull us out of this mess, we need to bring in a foundation builder manager for him to work under, so far the 2 managers he’s worked under have been a catastrophe. Give King time as the assistant to a proper football manager, not a head coach. Nobody was expecting a massive turnaround today, but at the very least he needed to get them fired up for the game, on that we have failed once again. Bring a manager in ASAP and prime King to take over in a couple of seasons.

Thought it was a 3pm kick off today. I think the players did too. I do not want a nice manager. I want a manager who will walk in and headbutt someone. Pearson or Hassenhuttl MUST happen.

If Ralph Hassenhuttl can come here and emulate the sort of chaotic, aggressive football he delivered at Leipzig/early southampton I'm convinced he's our best option. At the very least he would sign players that are under 30 and will run through brick walls, and will drop anyone who won't.

I completely agree, we need to really start not just producing talented young players, but talented young coaches who can take on the mantle when someone leaves. King is in a great position now where he can soak up all of the knowledge from an experienced manager for a couple of seasons, then when the time is right to part ways with whoever we bring in, King can step into that role.

Make it happen Top. The dream team, show us that ambition you keep banging on about.

If the club want to make the appointment permanent on a 2+ year deal, and also need the manager to be out of work for cost reasons, Hassenhuttl is a realistic priority for me. The only concern I would have with RH, is he is a strong leader, and i'm concerned that some of these spineless players will react badly and happily throw the club under the bus. With that said, I do think we have a fair few players that would still be willing to work hard and generally speaking have a good, professional attitude, I think we just have more "Bad eggs" than most clubs. But alas, Hassenhuttl doesn't conform to the pep-ball style that the clown upstairs continues to want to force upon us all.

My only concern is the immediate future, the players we have are spineless. If he comes in day 1 and starts hammering them and acting "like an authoritarian" how many of these overpaid prima donnas would down tools even further and relegate us? or could he galvanise them?

He's an interesting one, has a clear identity but he never stays at a club long enough to see it through, clearly a very good manager in there, but we need a full rebuild and i'd be worried if he was stupid enough to come here, we would end up being left "half built" and then need to try to find someone to replace him who can utilise the players left over.

Bring it on. No surprise Bertrand had a problem with a manager having discipline, more than happy to sit on the bench collecting a wage rather than actually fall in line and do what the manager asks, and what a refreshing change it would be to see a manager come in and get rid of all of the 30+ players.

That's fair, but imo Red Bull represents the identity we had. Aggressive football, signing young, hungry players who work hard and have a point to prove, and most importantly, have huge sell on potential. Everything that led to the 2015/16 season is exactly what the RB system achieves.

I get that, but I think the RB brand is anything but soulless. They have one of the smartest and well run sporting networks on earth. Their football network is genius, brings through talent left right and center. Don't get me wrong, the idea of being a Red Bull advert doesn't appeal to me, but the pro's outweigh the cons imo.

I'm genuinely curious, personally i'm not too bothered about the name, but if it was offered tomorrow for Red Bull to buy the club and rename us RB Leicester, would you take that? Personally I think it would be huge for the club, and would allow us to tap into their network of top quality coaches and scouting/youth development network. If it meant getting KP out, i'd snap your arm off to become RB Leicester.
