Well the main rumour is Southampton want him, and they will be a better prospect for him in summer than we will IMO, I wouldn't be surprised if clubs abroad take a look at him. I don't think £4m to secure a manager is a waste of money, sure, if there is a very real possibility we are the only club who approach him in the summer then we should wait and pay the £2m, but I think with the job he's done there, he will probably get some decent offers. I will say though, I actually think we are a very good prospect as a club even with all of the issues, we have fantastic facilities, some great young players coming through, and many players who can compete at Championship level as proven last season, we will also likely have some money coming in for players like Bilal and Mads, whilst getting big earners off the books in Vardy/Ward etc.
-
Honestly, I'd pay the £4m now. He will have a LOT of competition in the summer, i'd rather pay the £2m extra and get it over the line, £2m is not a lot of money in todays market, we are probably going to spend 5x that on a midfielder who turns out to be garbage.
-
Kristiansen is a far bigger bombscare than Thomas imo, LT has made fewer mistakes, he's not at the level we needed to survive, but i'd happily give him a run in the Championship with a manager who knows how to organise a defence, he's the least of our worries. If we can get 8m for him in summer and then reinvest that money into a left back, sure. If the offer that comes in is £5m or less we might as well hold onto him.
-
I can't see him wanting to step down to the championship, but if Urs Fischer is willing to come having left Union Berlin 14 months ago, he should be a top top priority, proven builder.
-
Been impressed with him also, would be a good appointment imo.
-
If he was a stop gap why give him an 18 month deal? And why can they get Rohl cheaper in summer? His buyout is still 5m surely? How is paying off Juric and paying him premier league wages going to save them money vs just paying the 5m for Rohl months ago? Juric has also brought in coaches with him
-
I completely agree, Southampton are in a far better position, most of their key assets are not on stupid wages and they have a lot of talent for the future. If given a choice between us and Southampton he would choose Southampton on ever metric apart from facilities, in every other detail they are better run. But that only becomes a possibility if we both wait until the summer. If he doesn’t have a secret deal in place then we should be triggering that clause NOW to really give him a choice to make. And if Southampton were really that keen on signing him why did they bring in Juric on an 18 month deal?

Regarding the rumour that Rohl has "agreed" to join Southampton in the summer, I think this rumour has sprung up because of the media speculation that Southampton wanted him when they sacked Martin, but this doesn't make sense to me. If we sacked Ruud today and triggered the buyout clause for Danny Rohl, that would force this rumour to be addressed since if there is a secret deal with Southampton to join in the summer that would become a massive media storm. If there isn't a secret deal in place already agreed, us sacking Ruud (because we simply have to) and triggering Rohls clause, that would force Southampton to do the same to stop us getting him, and if they really wanted him enough to sign a secret deal, why bother giving an 18 month deal to Ivan Juric? If Southampton believed Rohl was the long term option, they could have easily paid his 5m buyout when they sacked Martin, when you consider the amount Southampton will be paying Juric in wages, agent fees, sign on fee, plus the break option to part ways they have allegedly agreed, why didn't they just pay for Rohl? I can understand why this secret deal rumour exists, but financially, and from a stability pov, it just makes no sense for Southampton to have gone for Juric, then hand Rohl a championship squad in summer, when they could have handed him a premier league squad with half of the season to play. Part ways with Ruud, pay the £5m BEFORE we end up in a new financial year in the championship, give him a few months with a completely free hit so he can properly assess the squad and put transfer targets in place early, or at the very minimum, force Southampton to either publicly announce the deal with Rohl in the summer, and we end up giving the coaches a caretaker role until the summer where I can't see us getting any worse anyway.

I'm starting to think Ruud has given us a silver lining, if Bilal keeps putting in these bang average performances, we might not need to worry about him moving on, there is a hell of a player in there, but like Buonanotte, Ruud has pretty much ruined him, we need to hold strong and keep Bilal if we can. -
Also heard this from my Wednesday mate, Rohl wants out, if people think KP is a mess, they really haven't been keeping an eye on Chansiri. KP will be a breath of fresh air for Rohl.

As chairman of the DRIS I fully endorse this.

I would genuinely take Red Bull Leicester over top right now. We are basically King Power FC, I’d happily take a full name change if it meant getting access to one of the best football networks in the world, signing a manager who wants to play attacking football with a high press, and following the Red Bull model of signing young, hungry players with sell on value. Red Bull clubs are the epitome of what the majority of our fans want our club to be. Shame about the name but imo it’s a small trade off to turn the rot around.
-
He's been part of the problem for some time.
-
Genuinely feels like we would have been better off bringing back Dean Smith.
-
Knowing how this mess of a club is run he will be offered a 60k a week 12 month deal in the championship and hold us back from finding an actual replacement, again.
-
Once again our transition play is quite good, Soumare, Ndidi, Coady and Bilal have put together some good little plays off of eachother, we just have absolutely nothing upfront.
-
Poor mistake from Soumare but that has to be the most effort he's ever put into tracking back
-
The question is, do I make it 3/3 and just not bother to watch the game or even check the stats?
-
Ralf Rangnick given FULL control as DOF.

ITS RACE WEEK Honestly the last few months F1 has been the only thing I’ve been looking forward to, usually football becomes the focal point of the off season but this time around we’ve had the worst of both worlds. 4am start is a tad early but hopefully we get a nice tight race and not the expect McLaren 1-2 and 2 tenths per lap quicker all race.

We are basically playing the club we have copied the blueprint of only on a speedrun. Leicester City between 2020-2025 are a carbon copy of United post Fergie. Signing overrated players on massive fees and astronomical wages who don't care about the club, don't fit the system and have no sell-on value. Ralf Rangnick warned them, but they didn't listen. Leicester fans have warned KP for multiple years, but they haven't listened.

If we sack today, next match. If we persist, next season.
