  1. For the second week in a row I purposely avoided us. My time was far better spent I feel.
  2. Would love to see us take a relatively low gamble on young players like Konstantinos Karetsas or Chemsdine Chalbi. Both young and currently playing in Belgium and widely regarded as potential future stars.
  3. I feel like any transfer of a youth player to another club before they are allowed to sign a permanent contract should come with a 25% sell on clause by default + whatever future compensation is agreed. Plenty of clubs like Man City and Chelsea hoover up the countries best talents and the teams that developed them get a slap in the face when they turn out to be top draw, it's largely the same for Championship clubs hoovering up talent further down the league system also. It would need to be ironed out with finer details but for example if Monga has been with us for x number of years, and is within x years of being eligible for a professional deal, we will get 25% sell on regardless of the compensation. This would massively benefit clubs lower down the table that produce talent. The % could be lower depending on how long the player spent with the original teams academy, and lower depending on how many years before their first pro contract was signed.
  4. If Ruud gave him some minutes it would be a HUGE reason to stay. A direct line to the first team, and possibly more minutes should we go down.
  5. Those book values are far better than I expected they would be, I’d only really be concerned by Kristiansen and Skipp, we could probably get £10m for Kristiansen to be fair.
  6. Problem is, we want a Dyche like figure, but without the 3 year deal, if we are going for that type, quite literally the only managers I can think of are Warnock and Big Sam, I'd take either right now sadly (not Sadly on Warnock I genuinely like him and would love to see him hammering the players)
  7. I can see it now though, Murphy and King somehow keep us up by the skin of their teeth, get a 3 year deal and we are back down the bottom next season
  8. Even if he bucks his ideas up I don't think he's good enough to keep us up. Relegation will cost us hundreds of millions, sacking Ruud now will cost us single digit millions with the chance of someone coming in and getting a flukey bounce.
  9. I'm yet to see any compelling evidence that the EFL will have anything to charge us with, I know they will want to, but I can't see anything they can do unless new info comes out or I've missed something.
  10. He literally does this every match doesn’t he?
  11. I think he would, for all of our problems with the ownership, Wednesday are in a far worse position, for example at the end of the transfer window Chansiri held multi hour meeting with fans where he admitted he had not spoken to Rohl directly since November (whilst they struggled to bring any signings in) He told the fans if they want him to sell up so badly the fans need to find the buyer if not he’s going nowhere, he’s on multiple occasions and under multiple managers not paid the players, infact when Rohl first joined Wednesday there was a dispute where some players had not been paid for a month. Chansiri also told the fans late last year that if they hate him so much he will not put another penny in, and the fans need to repay the club loans each month. Wednesday are in a far worse position than us, have a far worse squad, Rohl has had to rebuild the squad with 14 free transfers and loans, and 4 players costing a total of 5m combined. Our relegated squad is superior to Wednesday and we will be getting parachute payments, we have some great young players and one of the best facilities in world football. Rohl comes here 100% imo, maybe not now, but in summer if we act quick he will.
  12. For the first time in forever I purposely avoided the match, didn't watch it, didn't google the result, I actually forgot the game was on until just now so I'll just say, what an awful performance.
  13. Are coaches allowed to work for both international and club teams though? Managers are and I can’t imagine international coaches have more work to do than a manager, surely he could work with us alongside his role?
  14. Not disagreeing with your point but just to add Cags wasn’t in the squad until Smith, Shakey and Terry came in and we instantly improved. Defensively we are awful but confidence is also at rock bottom, we are bad but we aren’t this bad. I even said defensively we were massively flattered last season, whenever teams attacked us they looked dangerous, a mix of bad finishing and controlling possession flattered our defensive record for sure. Our defence could improve massively though, no doubt in my mind Moyesy would have improved us defensively and offensively, he apparantely didn’t want to come here in the end but i do think Ruud is not addressing the basics.
  15. I’ve never seen a group of players who needed to hear this speech more in my life. Get him in. Id genuinely take him for the rest of the season right now.
  16. Someone else commented earlier that Nigel had mentioned the importance of them scouting players characters, agree with that post from earlier, it looks like we have zero interest in player character anymore.
  17. Massive bias for me on Rohl, but Urs is absolute priority if we can't get Danny.
  18. To this day I still can't understand this, wouldn't spend £4m on Corberan, would spend £55m or whatever it was on players, most of which couldn't care less about the club.
  19. 12th and 6 points off the playoffs with a squad that were destined for league 1 and no money, 18 signings, 14 on free/loan deals and 5m spent on the other 4, Mckenna did an incredible job also. £5m is peanuts imo, £5m for a man who can change the entire ethos of a football club like for example Enzo did, compared to a £5m signing like Ayew. Managers are worth their weight in gold if they are done right, players are a far bigger waste of money in the modern football era when compared to a good manager, just look at Arne Slot, he cost Liverpool £10m, there are very few players who cost £10m and have made the impact Slot has, look at Pearson, worth far more than most of the players he signed. Honestly I don't get this idea that spending £5m on a manager is expensive when you see the absolute dross we've bought over the last few years, he's hardly unproven, he's far more proven than Enzo was and he's turned a league 1 club who were in crisis and have an owner who has constantly refused to pay wages, refused to repay loans, told the fans they need to find someone to buy him out etc. Rohl is one of the most exciting managers in the football pyramid.
  20. It's hard to really tell what we will do next season because there are so many unknowns from players who haven't cut it in the prem, but don't want to be in the championship and may push for a move abroad, but I don't actually worry (too much) about us in the Championship even if the budget is tight, I've made a few assumptions here, but the core of this team is easily good enough for a playoff/automatic push. Assumptions made: Players Sold - Ndidi Ricardo (Both him and Ndidi don't deserve to be going down, Ricardo may be forced to stay after his injury though if his options are limited but assuming he leaves) Kristiansen Mads Winks (He won't want to drop down again, seems like a bit of an ego) Faes (please god) Ward Iversen (Vardy retires/leaves to USA) Stays: Fatawu (long injury and may not get the move he wants) Okoli (may be unlikely if he still has not settled, but if we can keep him he will tear up the championship) Optional game time: Jake Evans, Monga? Golding Signings needed: Striker Backup GK RB CM x2 CB if Okoli goes Possibly a CAM if Mcateer gets interest in summer again But there is every possibility players like Winks don't get a move either, and in that case we wouldn't need 2x CM's. Iv
  21. Yep fully accept that, only bite the bullet if we can convince someone to walk, if not we might aswell wait until summer.
  22. I'm going to annoy a few on here I'd expect as i've said it approx 378 times at this point, but my friend trio are lifelong Wednesday and Bournemouth fans, Danny is the man. £5m buyout, if you think LCFC is in a mess, wait until you see Wednesday, Danny Rohl would come here, maybe not now (although the lure of the prem would be massive) as he's a principled bloke it seems and he wants to keep going for the playoffs with Wednesday, but he's literally turned around a ship in far bigger crisis than we have been, and has spent basically nothing getting this League 1 squad from guaranteed relegation to playoff contenders. The job he's doing there is absolutely massive. This is the sort of manager every single fan should be behind. Heavy metal German football, tactically fluid, young and hungry manager that is on his way to the top, he would have our current squad top of the league in the championship, absolutely zero doubt.
  23. The most frustrating part of Enzo ball was how slow it was for the majority of the game, Mads to Vestergard to Mavididi, backwards pass to Justin, Across the back 4 to Riccy, Onto the other wing with Fatawu, Pass back to Winks, sideways pass to KDH.... And fans wondered why teams just sat in a deep block against us. Fans spent months arguing that teams sat in a deep block because of how strong our team was, and just couldn't accept it was because we took 50+ passes to even attempt to get into the box giving opposition defenders weeks to plan. I saw on so many occasions the opponents players literally walking across the middle of the pitch to get into a new position because of how slow we were. The only time we actually looked good that season was in the early part of the season where teams didn't really know our system, then a snore fest where we collapsed and almost threw away a 14? 17? point lead, and then the final handful of games where we basically dropped Enzoball and went all out attack and looked exciting, but apparently that was also Enzoball? Massive thanks to Enzo for his job in turning the ship around, he really did turn around the feeling at the club from desperation to hope again, but i'd crawl over broken glass before having to watch that football again.
  24. If we are accepting relegation now we might aswell bite the bullet and get in a new manager tomorrow and give him a few months to sound these charlatans out.
  25. I've seen him mentioned a few times
