I understand the sentiment however I want #9 to be the shirt that every single young striker in our academy, and every single young striker we sign dreams of wearing, it should be the pinnacle of representing this club at the top level. Leicesters #9 shirt should be for our academy and our signings as important as the Manchester United #7, it shouldn’t be given to players lightly.

What an absolute pleasure it's been, christ, 13 years. Time really does fly doesn't it? Through hard work, determination and a bit of fortune Leicester City created a decade of football that will go down in history as one of the greatest periods for a "smaller" team ever, in any sport. We were so fortunate as fans to watch Jamie and he fully deserves to be properly honoured by the club and immortalised with a statue or at the very least a stand named after him. Now we have to get back to the hard graft of resetting, rebuilding, and taking this club back to a position where we can create these memories again. Optimism over pessimism, we as fans need to hold the club to account and make sure the club builds on one of the greatest periods of football in the clubs history. Thank you, Jamie. The greatest Leicester City player ever.

Think he stays after this result. I've been a vocal advocate for Danny Rohl for about 12 months, and there are multiple candidates I'd take over Ruud, we cannot ignore the results and some of the performances, however we must also acknowledge that we have performed well in quite a few games under Ruud even when results didn't go our way due to mistakes/missing chances, West Ham, Brighton, Man City, Liverpool, Southampton, Ipswich today and a few others. We have beaten both of the teams that are going down with us quite comfortably and recently there have been a couple of positions that have taken a bit of pressure off of us in the transfer window in Thomas, Stolarczyk and Justin. We have a decent core of young players and the potential to possibly keep El Khannouss could create a really exciting team next season. We were absolutely awful under Ruud for much of his time here, but we have put in some decent performances here and there, and there is no doubt we have improved recently against the teams we are set to face next season. I believe we have a core of a squad that can compete at that level next year without the need for 10+ in and out in the window. I believe that we can fight for promotion with most of the candidates we are linked with, most of the candidates fans have suggested, but also with Ruud in charge. After the first few games in the disaster run, for me, the question became less about "can Ruud keep us up" and more "is he showing he can rebuild and get us promoted", for a large part of that run the answer was no, but recently I believe Ruud has shown a glimpse of what next season could look like. The most important aspect of this rebuild imo is not Ruud, it's the DOF position and our plan as a club to build a foundation based around an actual identity and direction. If we get into the summer and our main manager targets have decided to go elsewhere or turned us down, I won't be too worried if we give Ruud a summer window and 10 games to prove he can get us up, but we simply have to make sure that any signings in and out are made with a blueprint in mind so that should we be in a poor position after 10 games we can replace him with a manager who can continue the direction with a few tweaks rather than going down the Manchester United route of needing a rebuild every season because the new manager doesn't have the same philosophy as the last. I still want us to go for Rohl, but if it's Ruud I can just about forget this season (I desperately want to) and start fresh in summer.

Justin has definitely recovered his form the past few months, he was costing us a goal a game under Cooper but he's shown a fantastic attitude to knuckle down and keep showing for the ball. If it comes down to it and we struggle to find replacements for key areas of the pitch and maybe fall short on our top targets, I don't think the full back position is one we are desperately short on at the Championship level. He's not the player we were hoping he would be when he came back from his big injury a few seasons ago, but replacing him is not a massive priority compared to other positions imo.

To clarify, if it came across in a different way that was not my intention, I am fully aware this is fully my opinion. The audience expects whatever they are given. They were not given a choice or an option. If the footage was stabilised when it was introduced, then the audience would expect that. But again, the camera exaggerates it, the camera creates a far more artificial view of those forces than the driver experiences in reality. You aren't seeing what the driver sees, and the nature of the camera means you are not being given an accurate representation of what the driver feels. It's bad in both instances. Anyway, my point still stands, the helmet cam in it's current form does a poor job of showing the viewer a realistic representation of the forces the driver is feeling, or what the driver is seeing. I'm not trying to diminish the forces in any way. We aren't going to agree on this, so best to move on

I didn't say I wanted it to be more "artificial", the footage itself is artificial and exaggerates the forces relative to how the drivers bodies deal with the forces you are telling me you want to appreciate it, and that's not me for a moment trying to reduce the stresses they are under, it's just the nature of cameras. I fully understand it's my opinion, not sure why you keep saying it over and over as if I've argued that it isn't at any point? We are arguing for the sake of arguing at this point

But the helmet cam with no stabilisation does not give us a good understanding of the forces. Let me clarify, the drivers are under immense forces that neither you or me could handle, and I'm not in any way trying to pretend they are less than they seem. But an unstabilised helmet camera is an awful way of portraying those forces, because the lack of stabilisation makes it look like the driver is completely unable to keep themselves straight, it looks like they have no control when in reality, to their credit they do. In reality, these drivers have incredible strength and are able to fight the g-forces. Imo, the exaggerated nature of unstabilised camera footage is less impressive than seeing the behind the helmet cam or the camera above the driver in seeing how much they are able to control under the extreme circumstances. Cameras don't portray bouncing the way a human body does, they also make vibrations and bouncing more pronounced.

Right, but they don't show the footage to give you an idea of what the driver feels, they are showing the footage to show you the driver POV of specific moments. I'm not really sure what you're arguing against or defending, it just seems pointless Imo to release footage of a pov where you can't actually see anything. If the purpose of the clip was to show the forces the driver is under, the over the top cockpit cam and the camera that is to the right/left behind the helmet do a far better job, it keeps the track footage stable whilst showcasing the driver being moved around in the cockpit.

I get that, but the human eye stabilises the majority of that for the driver, the driver doesn't see what we are being shown otherwise the cars would be undrivable. For the driver its far smoother albeit still under a lot of different forces. I just don't see much value in showing us footage of something the viewer cannot decipher, and something the drivers don't experience to anywhere near that level, need a happy medium really.

What is the point in the helmet cam footage? I cannot fathom why F1 release the footage with no stabilisation... It's surely not that difficult to run a stabilisation filter over the footage. I'd rather wait a minute and be able to actually see Hamilton's POV of getting past Pierre than the bouncing unstable mess of a clip that they just showed, Live feed stabilisation is very much a common technology in 2025. If they needed to add stabilisation to a 10 second clip before sending it it's not going to take more than a minute or so. They even release it without stabilising the footage onto social media. It really is an end of an era, isn't it. 3 people in this post that helped build and define our greatest moments. It really highlights just what a mess this club is currently in. Shakey truly missed and I bet he would have loved to have been at the match today. I really hope should JV decide to continue in football after hanging his boots up we can find a capacity for him within LCFC. I think we could also massively benefit from Big Nige returning in a senior board role to finally get some direction again and rebuild the foundations.

Yep thanks for the correction, Even after that season had concluded we were all disappointed but I don't think many could see the absolute collapse that was just around the corner.

Things really were looking up at that time, we had sadly thrown away champions league football but we had played well the vast majority of that season (again) and it just felt like we needed only a couple of pieces of the puzzle to really click and put a genuine challenge for top 4 again, little did we know Brendan was about to assemble one of the worst back to back transfer seasons I've ever seen, bringing in Daka and Soumare (who to be fair were highly rated) and Lookman (who was worth every penny of the £15-20m we should have spent on him), alongside Bertrand and Vestergaard on stupid wages, followed by Wout Faes, Harry Souttar, Victor Kristiansen and Tete the following season, completely blowing the profits we made from Chilwell/Fofana, and to top it off letting Kasper go and not replacing him. We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in those two windows through a mixture of Covid, giving Brendan way too much power, and the stupid contracts that the club offered them, lumbering us with them for years.

Nuno seemed to be under the impression the medical staff said he was fit to play on. Surely though you’d have just asked the player? I mean nobody needed to even ask him, it took him 5 minutes to walk from behind the goal to the dugout because he stopped twice to lay down in pain. Absolutely mad decision from everyone involved.

Right but that category 1 status was nothing to do with Dyche, the facilities were declining at the end of Dyche's time in charge. They went from category 3 to category 2, got category 1 for two seasons before failing the audit under Dyche's management. Under Kompany they went on a firesale of Dyche's players and brought in loads of players under the age of 25, with many of them 22 or under. There is absolutely no doubt the youth facilities at Burnley improved between the day Dyche arrived and the day he left, but it's also true that burnley very clearly failed to take any advantage of that academy improvement because in 10 years they produced nobody with over 1bn coming into the club. There are 6 championship clubs with Category one status, and most of them have produced players who have gone on to the top flight in recent years, burnley have barely produced anyone of note for a decade. Now, maybe Dyche was absolutely hammering at the board for massive investment into the youth academy and they kept ignoring him, who knows, but all we do know is under Dyche their transfer policy was not focused on bringing youth players or even under 21 players to the club in order to progress them through the academy. Just to clarify, I'm open to Dyche being here, providing we set the right structure in place to focus on bringing through youth players and making sure we sign players 26 or under in general, but I'm concerned by Dyche's poor track record with promoting youth or buying youth into the Burnley academy, Burnley should have been the perfect stepping stone for a young player who has been released by the top academies, or young players in the league 1/Championship academies to come and get a proper chance, as far as I can see that rarely happened.

They went from Category 3 to Category 2 under Dyche until 2020 when they were initially granted category 1, after just 2 seasons they lost it after failing their Category 1 audit in his final year. There are plenty of clubs in the Championship with category one academies. But academy categories are not audited based on the talent they produce. Yeah, it's great that under Dyche the academy improved, but they clearly made very little effort to take advantage of that category improvement through actually signing young players from around the country or abroad to benefit from it. You can have the best academy in world football but if you are not actively signing players aged 15-18, what's the point? One of the key differences between Category 2 and Category 1 is the level of funding available and resources for that Academy, Burnley failed that audit in his final yea He had 10 years, 1bn in revenue, and an improvement in the category rating, and nothing to show for it.

The manager is one of the main drivers of building an academy. If these clubs lack academy prospects it's because the managers haven't driven for one. Sean Dyche brought over £1bn into Burnley in revenue and after 10 years had absolutely nothing to show for it in terms of youth prospects. If Dyche wanted to invest in 16-18 year olds and send scouts around all of the youth academies in the Championship/League 1/League 2 in order to sign them cheap and give them opportunities, he could have.
