  1. Because at the age of 6, a lot of children can barely read or write a grammatically correct sentence. Lots of children at that age struggle to use a full stop and a capital letter in the right place - quite a few still can't even form their letters correctly! Do you really think understanding what an expanded noun phrase is should be a priority for that age? I'm not opposed to learning grammar, but it needs to be age appropriate (which it certainly isn't, and you'll be very hard pressed to find any Primary teacher who disagrees with me). I think being able to focus on the basics of reading and writing would be a far more productive use of time. The phrase "learn to walk before you can run" springs to mind.
  2. Grammar tests in Primary School. Here are some examples of the Grammar questions for year 6 (10 - 11 year olds). Year Six Grammar 1. Underline all the determiners in this sentence: "Two apple trees screened the open windows on one side." 2. Complete this sentence so that it uses the subjunctive form: "If I ____ to have one wish, it would be for good health." 3. Identify the verb form that is in the present perfect in this passage: "Rachel loves music and has wanted to learn how to play the piano for years. She was hoping for piano lessons, and was delighted when her parents gave her a keyboard for her birthday." 4. Is the phrase "where my father works" in this sentence a preposition phrase, a relative clause, a main clause or a noun phrase? "My baby brother was born in the hospital where my father works." Our education system really does make me despair. I have no idea why I have to teach 6-7 year olds what a command or statement is, or what an adverb or an expanded noun phrase is.
  3. Please don't, because they might realise that he'd still do a better job than Mertesacker in defense.

  5. Tbf, I wouldn't say 1,100 words in 5 hours is "quickly". That's still about 65 hours spent on it!
  6. Hahaha brilliant!!
  7. Do you know, if we didn't have our keeper, then we'd have conceded at least twice as many goals!
  8. Slightly off topic, but for those Reddit users, an amusing comment. Sometimes, I really dislike Americans. (Note: New to PL, am a Yank,Leicester is my "Let's see what they'll do" team I chose in February. I have a safety team, but I'm not disclosing them.)
  9. What grinds my gears is when I can't use my phone, because the cats have chewed through both the charger and the spare charger (as well as my headphones).
  10. Or some better posters.
  11. Am Primary School Teacher. Can confirm all these things. Parents evening next week. Don't go into teaching.
  12. To be fair, we had loads of people last week saying Stoke are a "Big, strong and physical" team. I think our fans can be just as bad!
  13. I think our great atmosphere is because we're #fearless.
  14. How do you test the gender of an ant? Throw it in water. If it sinks, its girl ant. If it floats, its buoyant.
  15. Just finished the anime "Attack on Titan". Brutal, but brilliant stuff.
  16. An extra 20 points would be a ridiculous ask. That would put us above where Southampton finished, and 1 point below Liverpool. I think you're slightly delusional.
  17. I would class us as "relegation battlers" still, rather than solid mid-table! I don't think we're going to be clear of the relegation scrap this year.
  18. Yeah, fastest 10 players out of the about 30 that they looked at.

Genuinely think the talking protagonist might ruin it for me. Certainly pissed me off in Dragon Age 2.

Yeah, most people that play 3 first tend to prefer it, and vice-versa. I think the other reason is that I'm not big on the exploration front; I like having a relatively clear idea of where I'm supposed to go and I get frustrated if i'm lost and wandering around for hours. Luckily that didn't happen a lot in NV (other than the Repconn area, which almost made me quit), but the subway system in FO3 just confused me and made me lose patience. Skyrim was good to begin with;the map is very impressive, but you soon realise how terrible the combat system is (just mash RT), the level scaling system is broken and the quests are shallow with a bland and generic story-line. In contrast, the story-writing in New Vegas was great, especially in some of the individual vaults. Vault 11 was especially brilliant.

I played New Vegas first, and I thought the story/dialogue was great, and I think it's brilliant how many options you have - you can kill every single character in the game (other than Yes man) and still complete it. I tried to play FO3 afterwards, but the conversation options seemed to be really shallow. I loved the section in the vault at the start, but it went downhill for me after that (though admittedly, I didn't get very far through FO3). I know lots of people prefer FO3, but I just can't get into it. Also, I dislike Skyrim as a game, so I don't know if I have much faith in Bethesda.

    Fallout 4

I love NV, but not a big fan of FO3, so this could go either way for me.
  23. No rogue? I'm surprised. Roughly how many NPC's are there? Surprised I haven't come across more to be honest. Have both Eder and Durance - both pretty useful. Especially Eder, who is pretty much carrying the team.
  24. Yeah, they did. I normally hate space-battles, but they were great. You could either win by blowing the key parts of the ship up from the outside in your X-wing, or you could fly into their ship's hangar and land with a troop carrier, and run around sabotaging everything from the inside. Was a good combination of flight and ground combat.
  25. Well my Rogue is the one character that I "hired" (created) from the Inn, so I have no qualms about getting rid of her. Just waiting for another Melee NPC to turn up to add to my party - so far I've taken every one that I've met.
