On this form, he's the best keeper in the league.

Michael Owen is a complete bell end. Keown and Wright talk sense.

Nope. Bought the Wii U, and have been disappointed with how few games have been released for it, and how quick they were to drop support for it. Not going to buy another Nintendo console for a while

BBC (and other media groups) banned from press briefing. Because apparently "fake news". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-39088770

Wow. The How Can There Be Global Warming When It was Cold Last Week argument. That's up there with If We Evolved From Monkeys, How Come There Are Still Monkeys Around? I love it when people say things like that. It's the tried and tested litmus test for revealing idiots.

He did play well. One of the only ones.

Amartey is definitely improving. I thought he was our best midfielder again today, and he's been much better at getting the ball forward. Lost it once or twice with his forward passes, but made quite a lot of good ones too, and I'd far rather that then not trying to attempt them at all. He's not Kante, and he's never going to be Kante. That's no slight on him though, as Kante is probably the best defensive player in the world, in my opinion. On current showing, Amartey has got potential to be a good premier league midfielder. He's good in the air, his passing is improving and so is his positioning/defensive contribution. Good on him. He's proved me wrong the past few games.
-
Must admit, I thought he was shockingly bad at the start of the season. I'm still not convinced, but I must say he has improved massively - most noticeably with his forward passing.

Personally I find it better to exercise in the morning (in terms of getting sleep). If I exercise in the evening, then all the adrenaline keeps me awake for much longer.
-
If that's the case, then we're absolutely fvcked.

Yup, plus Kane played a couple more games aswell.

I don't think you're really understanding the point here.....I'm not saying Amartey should take the blame for yesterday's performance, and if that's what you're going to take from this, then you may as well stop reading now. What I am saying is that we have many problems in the team. We have players who are not performing to the level anyway near enough that they're capable of. We have newer players in the squad who may not be good enough for our team. The rest of the team take just as much of the blame as Amartey does. None of them played well (other than Drinkwater, and possibly Kasper). The only difference is that we know they're underperforming. That's different to Amartey; he may be in poor form, but for all we know, this could actually just be his natural level, because he's never really shown us a period when he's been "good". Yeah, maybe he will suddenly become amazing, and learn to pass. Or maybe, he's not under-performing, this is just his level, and he's not cut out for top-flight football.
-
The difference is, the others have at least proven at some point that they're good enough, they're just going through some bloody horrendous form. Amartey hasn't yet proven he's up to the standard, and I've not seen anything that suggests he is good enough. He's not the scapegoat, he's just one of the many, many things that currently isn't working in our team, and needs sorting. Just because we're saying that his Amartey's performances aren't of the required standard (they're not), it doesn't mean we're saying that the rest of the team are brilliant either. This just happens to be the Amartey thread....

You're right that 4-4-2 doesn't seem to work without Okazaki. I'd be more tempted to start Slimani than Vardy, as it's not as if Vardy has been in good form recently, while at least Slimani has come up with a few goals. I don't think it would be worth playing Vardy out wide, as he just doesn't have the technical ability, and Musa hasn't been particularly dazzling in his cameos either. I like the idea of 4-3-3, but that'd require 3 CM's, and we barely have 2 at the moment. I'd probably go for the 4-2-3-1. Slimani up top by himself, then Gray, Okazaki and Mahrez behind him, with Drinkwater partnering King/Amartey/Mendy behind them. Okazaki will give us a little more defensive ability (and I think his quick passing/link up play is something that we've been missing), and Gray deserves to be in on merit at the moment. Only issue would be less pace up top, but most teams seem to be setting up to counter that anyway.

It's clear, and has been for a while, that he's not good enough at the moment, Now he's young, so I'm not saying that he'll never be good enough, but he certainly shouldn't be starting, and I'm not sure he'd even offer a lot off the bench. I think the biggest issue is that he either can't, or is unwilling to pass. He can make the sideways/backwards passes, that my nan could make, but almost never passes forward, and shifts the responsibility to someone else. It's predictable, and one of the reasons our forwards get no service. He doesn't seem to be able to hold on to the ball under pressure. He often seems to be in the wrong position, or ball watching. He doesn't seem to particularly offer anything. He seems athletic, and fairly good in the air, but I'm not seeing many positives to his game. Considering he seems to be in the side for his defensive ability, he's far inferior to Drinkwater defensively (who also offers a lot more in other departments). I'd almost rather see King starting (something I'd never thought I'd say), as King is a better passer and can occasionally pop up with a goal, even if he is just as ineffectual defensively. Either way, it's clear that unless Mendy comes back soon, and proves to be half-competant, we're absolutely buggered.

My last two 10k eggs :'(
-
I'm probably getting about 6k steps a day, but I only have 2 incubators on the go. My last 10k was about 3 weeks ago though! ......That being said, I literally got a 10k egg a few hours after I made that post. Let's see if it works for other things. "Not had a bloody snorlax yet!!"
-
Not had a bloody 10k egg for ages. I currently have 8 5k eggs, and one 2k egg.

Don't mean to crush everyones hopes, but I think the only reason for the influx of Mr Mimes is because they changed the spawn rate of the regional exclusive pokemon in yesterday's update. Eg. Taurus only appears in North America, Mr Mime only appears in Europe and Far Fetched in Asia. I too also caught a Mr Mime yesterday, in an area that normally only spawns pidgey, rattata and weedle. So I think they're just becoming really common. Which is a pain, as it's the only thing I seem to hatch from 10k eggs. So anyone hoping that they'll start seeing more rare pokemon - sorry, it's probably just going to be Mr Mimes

Ah, found it. New this would be back sooner or later.

Okazaki interviews, comments and pictures from the Japanese media

Why do they seem to have better coverage of us in Japan then they do here in Leicester?! -
Things that grind my gears: Children that bring stickers into school. Hahaha. You have no idea. Yeah, they're banned at our school - it's not my idea, but I'm glad they are. We allowed them for a few weeks, and they cause all sorts of unnecessary arguments. Is it really our job to get to the bottom of who-owned-the-vardy-that-was-traded-for-a-shiny-but-now-they-want-to-trade-back? Or the classic that's-my-sticker, no-it's-not-it's-mine-from-home. How am I supposed to tell who owned the damn sticker? Do I call in both sets of parents to find out? Do I interrogate the children C.I.A style, or do I go the King Solomon route and cut the sticker in half? It's impossible to actually sort the disputes out because, firstly, there's so damn many of them, and because secondly, funnily enough, kids don't always tell the truth all the time, especially when stickers are involved. Then you have the younger kids who are coerced intro trading stickers with the older ones, which leads to parents coming in, wanting to know why their child is being bullied. It's an absolute shit-show, and it's impossible for us to be around and supervise fairly. I already have a million and one jobs that I already have to do (and I certainly don't have an easy life - trust me, there are enough argument to sort out on a daily basis as there is). You might think that being the arbitrator of sticker arguments is one of them, but I can assure you it's nowhere in my job description. If you want your child to trade stickers, then why not get him to meet up with his friends after school, and trade them then? Edit: And when I was at school, I remember it was Pokemon cards. I also remember my younger cousin (about 7 at the time), being bullied into giving up his shiny Charizard by a Year 5 (kids can be cruel). They were banned shortly afterwards.

I hardly think saying that "Swansea will give us a game" is controversial. They may very well win it, even, especially without Vardy.

I think you've misunderstood (though probably because I wasn't very clear). It was two separate points. The first was an example of the Year 6 grammar tests. I then moved on to talk about the ridiculous expectations for grammar for 6-7 year olds, as there is also a Year 2 Grammar test. When I said... ..... I was indeed talking about 6-7 year olds (Year 2), not Year 6's. I presumed this was what Carl was replying too, but apparently not, my bad. Point still stands. The expectations for grammar are not age appropriate. Grammar is all very good, but it shouldn't be the focus when they are not secure in the basics at that age.
