AFL final weekend so Melbourne has been bouncing. Just got in from an awesome night. I was working in Federation Square yesterday, a tourist hotspot, and saw my old personnel manager from back in England. I've gone halfway round the world but I still can't escape what I used to do.

I agree to an extent. The viewing figures for a lot of the reality shows justify them to the tv companies. When new, original shows come along they have to instantly get good ratings or they are dropped. It's the viewers that are the main problem. If people are happy to watch the same crap being churned out then that is what will be made. If people stopped watching the reality shows, companies would be forced to try something original to draw viewers back.

Battle Royale is a quality film. There have been several films along the same lines as it, most of which are awful. The Condemned starting Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones is a prime example.

Unless he has taken a course in using internet forums I would say that this is rather unlikely

Great post. I know it still isn't confirmed as a factor in his death but I thought people had a better understanding of depression now but apparently not. Just because someone seems to have a perfect life doesn't mean anything. The fact that he has lots of money, a family and is doing well at work means nothing. There usually will be a trigger to start an episode but it is an incredibly unpredictable illness. If depression turns out to be the reason I hope it will help people understand more about it. It can affect anyone at any time and it doesn't matter what their current life circumstances are. I would reccomend people read Stan Collymore's tweets over the last week on his ongoing battle with depression. R.I.P Gary Speed
