Ruud awakening for the Premier League!
Lambert09 replied to DJ Barry Hammond's topic in Leicester City Forum
It feels like the club want to do do a big reveal. RVN has a huge global reputation, we are probably being pretty coy, link it to the press so that everyone knows about it but the actual reveal being at a game… well that brings an audience and some huge positive PR… that video of him walking out would hit globally and this would be good for our brand. Or am I giving us too much credit? -

hard to judge that really, we don’t know the temperament of the players he had there. In my opinion, we have a great bunch of lads in the team, they might not be the best ability wise but they all seem pretty good guys and seem to be professional (if you don’t get hung up on having a laugh with your mates on a xmas do). Wouldn’t be worried about that sort of drama here tbh. Unless he benched vardy from day one and creates an issue there, he wont have many unusual issues. -

funny that the defenders at man u said he was very focused on defensive structure… could be a sign that he adapts and learns from mistakes…. we’ve not had someone humble enough to realise they need to improve in yonks! -
it’s frustrating how many people have come up to me and acted like we are lunatics for sacking him and where do we expect to be. But our fans wanted him gone from pre-season, everyone could see it wasn’t working. If Enzo had stayed, even if we’d been rock bottom, if the philosophy was still there and the players were fighting for him I wouldn’t have been demanding a change. Steve cooper made the club worse, he wasn’t improving anything and was undoing good work by his predecessor. At the end of the day, these opinions don’t matter but it’s annoying trying to explain that i’m not demanding us to finish higher than 17th.

I get the same sort of excitement as when sven took over. No idea if its going to be great or a car crash but its just nice to have some form of feeling back after a numb season so far. -
I love a manager saga, the rollercoaster of emotions from people based on nothing rumours are sensational reading. Just today i’ve seen paddy’s about RVN, Carsley, Moyes, Rafa, Pearson, hassenhuntle and danny rohl, Ill come back in an hour and there will be a whole discussion about whether or not Manuel Pellegrini did enough at west ham, would he get along with luke thomas and does his hair make him look like roy cropper

Fair play. Not because the message matters, but because his opinion does! We’ve been critical for so long of him not being involved. This week, he’s taken charge, sacked a manager, criticized players and is taking an interest in recruitment. This might be detrimental to us in the long run but it’s what we’ve been crying out for. Because we were sat in limbo with nobody caring about anything. So if this change in ownership status allows him to get more involved or if he’s just finally realizing he needs to take charge… then fair f-ing play!

my point is that there is more chance of someone being successful as a manager if they have that background than none at all. Xavi alonso’s career took him to top clubs around the world. He obviously has the right mind for it but if his experience had been all at hartlepool, i doubt he would be as good.

I don’t think it’s like a nepo baby getting an acting job though. With football, a big player, one tends to understand the game better. A winner knows the right way a dressing room should be and the standards required. They often have a strong tactical knowledge as that’s what helped them get to the top of the game. They walk in to a room and players respect them and their ideas and they can attract people. Yes he hasn’t proved himself yet but if he had, he wouldn’t consider us. PSV are a huge club and if they were willing to give him a try than we are in good company. He looked the real deal at times there but it turned out it was a big job too soon, but i think he has the talent.

you could say that about any manager as other than mouriniho and will still they are basically all ex players

Beto looked decent for a few spells but dyche keeps persevering with his favourite DCL. Odd when the guy came of the bench twice and drastically improved the side

i’m not claiming to be ITK, but i do have some sources on things. that have never been wrong so far. Do what you want with the info, will delete this post shortly so the bookies don’t get on to me.

I like moyes, but that’s probably because I imagine that’s how i’d aim to manage a side as well. If you have a strong enough defence with engines in cm, than the other 4 spots can be as attacking as you like. A moyes system would technically have allowed for mavi, buonnanotte and fatawu to all play and not feel like we are getting over run.

The more you think about it, the more it seems like RVN would be the target. The movement feels sudden, like there was a movement the club wanted to get ahead of to not miss a target. Moyes and Potter have both been free for a while and don’t look close to taking anything, more than likely would wait until the sack race begins. RVN however is urgently seeking employment, put his name in for coventry and is in talks with Hamburg… so if this move is based on a plan like it’s being described, surely that plan was to get him before he goes to a club below us in the food chain.

considering what a brutal career football management is, not coming 1) after brendan’s dumpster fire; 2) in the championship; 3) with a looming points deduction that relegated you before you start…I think that just means he’s got a smart head on his shoulders. I don’t want a manager thats not smart enough to see, that all 3 of those scenarios are all risk and very little benefit. I want a manager that is analytical and has good judgment so turning us down before are positives for me.

Absolutely worth a punt if he’s available. He’ll make it

Harmless bit of banter, particularly as they were probably told cooper was gone. Not like it said cooper is shite.
-
Potter for home games. Moyes for away games. RVN for cups. Dream team!
-
they value him at 100m apparently 😂 there’s not going to be any value in signing him.
-
for once, i’d be happy with all 3 of those.
-
I enjoyed watching west ham with him. Wouldn’t turn my nose up at moyes at all

we have these posts every time until reality steps in and we get linked with jessie marsch and dean smith

The one advantage is that half of the squad are used to playing enzos way, so it shouldn’t be a huge ask to adapt.
