Perhaps but emery has so far won nothing with villa whereas Brendan did win the FA Cup. I’d say on paper Brendan had achieved better with us than Emery has thus far with villa. But that comes down to whether you’d prefer champions league football or a trophy

It’s amazing how similar we look to the newly promoted forest side. I’d assumed that was down to their summer but we also have no clear identity. It’s messy chaos, just like it was for them. If you play turgid football, but you have a lot of quality within the side, you can stay up. But that’s not what I aspire for us. We’ve just had one of the best coaches we’ve ever had at the club and it’s hard to not notice the difference. Enzo was almost overly meticulous, so much that he wanted to control every player movement. Cooper I feel gives the players a lot of freedom to decide how they go about their individual games. I would just love to be able to look through a window and see how we’d have got on with Enzo… my gut feeling is that the defensive holes we’d have left would have led to heavy morale crushing defeats and we may well have been worse off

played really well in the his last game though and got a goal. Got to really grind away for a shot, which is madness when they only signed him in the summer. Really sad to see as it only takes a few years not playing and the wheels can completely fall off
