  1. He’s a possession focused manager but with an emphasis on creativity and attacking. or at least he is with the under 21s. I found that whilst he is focusing on possession he isn’t one to stop his players taking risks which is about the best balance you can hope for. Seems to have players focus on particular roles rather than rigid formation and that fluidity worked really well for the under 21s. I think the blueprint is perfect for a championship team who would be expected to dominate possession. It’s hard to say how he would fair in a relegation fight but one to worry about when you get there. he’s very highly rated by the football community, same sort of reputation as someone like McKenna before he went to Ipswich. Id be more excited for this than I was about Maresca so a high expectation from me. In fact, I think he is very much groomed for the next England manager, 4 or 5 good seasons with us then he replaces Tuchel… who says no.
  2. Genuinely think Lee Carsley would be a fantastic appointment
  3. My focus would be on the right characters. I think we have enough talent for a decent manager to at least push top 6 so a perfect window is getting the bad eggs out and replacing them with talent that also have the right personalities. I don’t mean more coadys though, you do have to have footballing ability but more of the Pearson standards of players. That ethos brought us all of our success
  4. I think getting 3 premier league standard players is a good return tbh. Hermansen and Fatawu definitely are. Personally think winks is, he just didn’t fit the systems. if we’d kept maresca who the players were signed for, I think winks and mavididi show up as prem players. Mavididi will always be inconsistent but he would have done enough to get by imo. Also shout out to Yunus, who sounds like had a great season so who knows if he might have pushed on had we signed him. All subjective of course but if we can match that window we will be going up again… I just hope we learn to avoid has beens like coady.
  5. One thing the championship did for us was allow us to make value signings. It definitely allows you to build a solid foundation if you get it right. Last years transfer window was so many levels above this one. It’s not even close
  6. Let me try and find it again. Makes sense though as Percy confirmed there’s no relegation clause. so we’ve got another 2 years on his contractz 2 mill a year sounds about right to me
  7. Can’t believe he’s going to get 4m for this. Rudkin is genuinely braindead. We had all the cards and he still didn’t put a relegation clause in. Utter buffoon
  8. It’s a 3 horse race between him fatawu and Ricardo
  9. This wouldn’t even be funny
  10. I mean right about people at their club. The fans know their own players and managers far better than people on the outside. Why would our fans have known anything about Ruud? The PSV fans were the one right about ruud
  11. There’s an awful lot of negative reviews of Danny Rohl coming out. Number one issue being his recruitment. Fans seem to think it’s the old players that have mainly kept them up the last 2 seasons and the signings he made haven’t been good enough and he’s eventually gone back to the old guard, who have got them the points. His latest rant claiming the players they’ve signed and retained aren’t good enough has hit some nerves, especially as he brought the majority of them. The problem I have with all of this, is it sounds exactly like Brendan. a great coach but the more control the more damage done and when things don’t work out, blame everyone but yourself. Take a close look and you’ll see the Wednesday fans won’t be too sad to see the back of him, which looks insane from the outside but I’ve learnt that the fans are more often than not, completely right.
  12. I’m always curious about the age of people who post things like this. For those of us who have been here since the last premier league era, the reason we’re so annoyed, is because we know how hard this journey was. We were a nothing club for a decade and when you hit the lows we had, you realise just how unique of an opportunity we had. We were finally an established premier league club. We aren’t spoilt or expecting too much, we’re just completely let down by an establishment that had allowed for us to fall from such a stable position. Poor footballing decisions have undone so many people’s hard work and that’s very hard to take. The good fortune that fell on us may never happen again and tbqh it almost certainly won’t.
  13. Oh I’m not watching, my app seems to have no clue
  14. Looks like he’s slotted into the 10
  15. My app seems to think alves is playing as an 8/ 6 . and hamza at rb. Seems odd they wouldn’t use him in the more attacking roles
  16. well if you look back at kdh he didn’t stand out either. players that aren’t flare often don’t, but it doesn’t mean they won’t make it. Until they take a loan you really can’t judge them. look at braybrooke, i expected him to be ready for the first team but he struggled to make an impact in scotland.
  17. Given how the majority of our cms will be cleared out, you’ve got to imagine theres a huge opportunity for Cartwright, braybrooke or Golding. It’ll be interesting out of the 3 of them who is highest on the pecking order. skipp is limited technically so you’d imagine the most technical of the bunch (and physically ready) will be the one who gets an opportunity in preseason
  18. Can you all promise that if by some miracle he ends up having a decent career somewhere, none of you start a thread saying we shouldn’t have sold him
  19. I know he’s not hit the ground running at Hull (and I kind of hope it stays that way) but I would absolutely love if we could get Louie Barry in. I’d be happy if he was the only addition to the squad if we keep the ones you’ve listed. only other gap is in cm and I’d personally be keeping winks if we can’t get a fair fee
  20. All depends on the psr situation. If they can keep their best players and add to the squad then they have a decent shot. Salahs age might catch up to him, these things tend to happen without warning. Man City might have another year of transition, or some form of punishment. Chelsea, spurs, Man U in shambles Arsenal no better prepared for a title charge than them. certainly wouldn’t write it off as a foolish shout. The problem for them would be how they could juggle the champions league with it, which last time effected their league form drastically
  21. Then you go for a ready made manager? Not a newcomer like Enzo surely? Or were they really blown away by our limp over the finish line
  22. Beginning of the end for him. I still dont get why they didn’t stick with Poch
  23. I don’t doubt that we deserved scrutiny. But the issues with the efl has always been that they pick and chose what to pursue and how to pursue it. Asking us to submit a business plan because they suspected we might be spending too much, its absolute nonsense from power hungry cretins. I’m curious to see how last seasons court case effects things because they are itching to throw the book at us. How dare an efl regular win the premier league, fa cup and challenge for Europe… the hate we get is bizarre.
  24. I think you’d have too many cases like with music and record labels. young kids would sign their careers over to big agents who would just take advantage of them. It should just be regulated, It wouldn’t be hard for leagues to set a percentage that agents receive and that’s that.
