Our fans are so apathetic. No boos, no Rudkin out, all I can hear are clappers ffs
-
Wonder what next for him now? Another prem loan? it’ll hurt to see Leeds or Sheffield get the best out of him
-
Just odd to be pointing the finger at him today of all people. The whole team is awful but he’s been our best player today imo
-
Did you miss what soumare just did then?
-
Hate to say it but the difference between the running we’re getting from Daka and vardy is staggering. We really can’t afford to keep him next year
-
Would banzuzi be realistic in the championship? I feel like it would be
-
Don’t think he signs a multi year deal with us if that was the case. It’s his retirement package, he’s not got anything left for top level football and will take our cash happily.
-
The only market that might touch ayew is Saudi. Potentially he gets something because he has a big following in Ghana.
-
Unfortunately this is the most likely outcome. id be surprised if we get more than 30 tbh. im more worried we give Jakob the shirt and offer a new deal to ward
-
easy to forget wanya is out on loan, but he just subbed on in the 57th minute. They won 2-0 (1-0 when he came on)

Lots of positive talk from oxford about Nelson. Seems to have come back well from injury. They seem to think he’ll be a starter for us next season no matter the division (they’re more optimistic than us that we could survive )
-
I’d rather not. It’s over for us, let him get healthy and get a good preseason into him.

Well originally I would have agreed. But we are only 6 points away and maresca is far better than cooper and RVN. The summer looks a lot different if he was in charge. If Maresca was here, I think we start fairly well, and wed eventually hit a rut when players lose confidence to play his way and he wont change his philosophy. But I think he just wins the games where teams were there for the taking. Weve been gifted so many occasions where the other side are nowhere near their best this season and by and large weve not even tried to get at them and allowed them to pick up some confidence. Ultimately we might still have gone down but id think wed actually be leading wolves at this stage and would be crossing their fingers they cant catch us, rather than the other way around.

I think I could accept our on the pitch form if the aim from the start was to fix our financial issues. If we had just taken this as a lifeline but accepted we were likely going down but in a better financial position, id be fine. But then you look at the type of business. Expensive contracts on players with no resale value. 8m on ayew. 25m on skipp. Remove these two bits of business and I think id look at it all and say, well we were being smart for business reasons. Get the ffp stuff behind us and allow us room to grow when we are ready to. But what we actually did was act desperately. Pay players what they want. Pay whatever fees clubs wanted for cast aways because that was what the manager wanted. Unsurprisingly we acted without a vision. This season is the worst its ever been. The decisions have made less sense than ever before and we undid a lot of excellent work from enzo and his team. We are still very well placed to go up next season, despite how bad it has been. But we need clear heads and change and a sprinkle of quality from the academy. The next manager appointment is the biggest in our history imo, get it wrong and we could drop to league 1. We have one chance to bounce back before it all crumbles and the work to establish ourselves over the last 15 years is completely lost.

Ben Nelson on the pitch! Great news
-
but as others have said, if the players around him are improved he might shine more. it’s impossible to say at this point but if he stays healthy and gets minutes we can take a good look in the summer. he doesn’t need to be as good as stephy or fatawu, he needs to be as good as yunus was.

The best I’ve seen was that the reason for the nets around the ground was to catch Dalots crosses

I really rate Liam Manning. He progressively builds and plays very nice football. So in Canada when we got relegated last year, we randomly got linked with Manning. I looked into him and he definitely has an upward trajectory. I’m still not sure where such a random link came from. he’s young (39) and his career is more coaching than playing, which I like as they sometimes have more focus and drive and don’t rely on what they felt they’ve already achieved and learnt. so after working in some youth teams he got the Lommel job, they were bottom and he took them to 3rd. he got the mk dons job, they were dysfunctional and he got them to the playoffs… I watched those games they were really good, the strongest team by far and I was very impressed but they got snatch and grabbed by wycombe. The next season they lost some key players and things went backwards, they were mid table and mk dons got rid. He got the Oxford job and transformed them and got them pushing for playoffs and quite frankly led the foundations for their recent success. He got the Bristol job, they are penniless and has them competing for playoffs when in reality they have no right to be in the top half. He would be an incredibly refreshing appointment and has plenty of upside.

He’s free. He plays the football Top wants. He has championship experience. He got promoted (our board won’t look into how shit they were) We have long term historical interest. He is by far the most likely candidate we are a short sighted establishment, we won’t care how he did in the prem as the next aim is to get back there

I think we are nailed in to bring Martin in on the championship and that will be the final nail in our coffin
