  1. They will put in a good word for us with Marouane Chamakh
  2. Arsenal would be a great move for him tbf. Good youth development. Odergaard on a massive decline. football would suit him. I can see it
  3. Hypothetically, if everything has clicked for ruud in this break and we go on a mad run and survived. would this rank as the second best thing a manager has achieved? Pearsons great escape obviously had potential title winners in the club. So surely, this would be the most incredible achievement other than the title win.
  4. As much as we were annoyed to get him, he must also be …. to downgrade from playing with zaha and olise to the shite we have
  5. Any promoted side is going to concede a lot of goals, even the well organized ones, im not sure where there goals would come from currently. Every promoted side that’s survived have had a ruthless striker. they have to nail that piece of business in the summer to have a chance. Wouldn’t say any of the teams in the hunt have that piece of the puzzle. certainly no Toney’s, mitrovics or Bamfords (at the time)
  6. Curious if David Brooks could be available for a loan, possibly with an option/obligation. Farawu/mavi/brooks/ alves would be lovely options for the front 3 behind the striker. I would be incredibly surprised to see Bilal here next season and there really should be no room in the squad for ayew and BDR. Ideally the club moves on mcateer as well.
  7. unfortunately mate, the closest parallel to our ownership is portsmouth
  8. Any idea who we’ve used esc places on in the past?
  9. I still find it mad that he went to notts county in league 2 with Sven. What a weird period in football history. Kasper went as well didn’t he?
  10. Excuse my ignorance but isn’t a work permit a country requirement and nothing to do with football?
  11. It’s no different to Anthony Gordon, came through at a terrible Everton side looked great but then lost all momentum because of how bad they were. Eyebrows were raised when he moved to Newcastle but proved that he was the talent everyone had suspected. His carer, development or anything else was not hindered because he played in that dog sh*t team at all.
  12. You’ve got 2 choices, adapt. or really back yourself in the market. we dont have money and our scouting hasn’t been good enough, so you can rule out bargain gems. Our only option is to adapt. Perhaps someone like Leeds with red bulls backing can throw more at it but most clubs, need to adapt. ipswich made good signings but if I had to fault them it’s because they won’t alter their strategy. They could have made a decent go of it if they tightened up imo.
  13. One incompetent appointment doesn’t make another incompetent appointment any better. we needed better than both of these clowns

  15. I think this is the uncomfortable truth. We hit the jackpot on some of the individuals recruited and then the success allowed us to develop and gave us a chance to grow. I do think that overall owners should be as hands off as possible but when you really dig into it, we’ve been run poorly for a long time. Whilst Rudkin was employed our demise was always inevitable. One failed bounce back and we will fall away from even being a yo-yo club.
  16. £ for £ the worst signing we’ve ever made. musa was shocking but obviously did show glimpses of talent, I can underStand why a scout took a punt on him. slimani, right player wrong time. Silva, mismanagement off the pitch cost him. his ability wasn’t the issue really, even if he was vastly overpriced. but with skipp, everyone knew he wasn’t worth a fraction of it. He’s never shown any signs of quality that we’d need other than running a lot. And we already had players in his position that were clearly better than him. The scout that recomneded him, or accepted that coppers request was reasonable needs sacking as well as the idiot dof who haggled that price. Best case scenario with this season would have been him being slightly better than winks…. What a thing to aim for
  17. Nice lad, tries his best but he’s just not good enough guys. If someone wants him, he should go imo. I want him to succeed but we won’t progress with him in the side imo.
  18. I’d take a back line of curtis, scimeca, Dabizas and thatcher over what we currently have
  19. Just got a new job managing AFC Richmonds womens team.
  20. Fair enough, even so, I don’t think approaching now changes the situation. If he’d prefer Southampton he would be happy to wait. I don’t think he will want to add a relegation to his CV for the sake of it. A few games back, maybe as he may have backed himself to have a go at it. But with our fixtures and point gap, it’s a forgone conclusion. There are more illogical fans then logical ones and even though on paper you can say he’s coming into prepare for next season there will be people who judge him for what happens between now and the end of the season and it won’t be pretty.
  21. That’s optimistic of you. I think Top’s head is firmly in the clouds. More like the attitude of a neutral fan… of course we’re getting relegated this season, what did we expect. I don’t think we’ll be hearing anything this season from him. There won’t be an inquest and they will naively assume we will just get promoted again without any real challenge
  22. Where do you think the competition would come from? There won’t be prem teams looking. Nobody looks likely to sack at this point other than perhaps spurs (who won’t go for him). We will be the most attractive club you’d think (unless clubs abroad consider him). We created a financial mess for ourselves, so suggesting wasting money for a lost cause and creating downward momentum, doesn’t make sense for me if the release clauses are correct.
  23. Carrick is another Martin tbqh. The football looking pretty is more important than the results it generates. We need to move away from this direction. Boro have dropped so many points simply by messing around with the ball in their own box. We need someone that can be successful at scrapping in the premier league, because what’s the point in getting promoted if we will just crash and burn again because we will not be able to sustain the play style. Didn’t work for burnley, didn’t work for Ipswich ( for different reasons) but the teams that survive tend to adapt and with the gap as large as it is right now, you simply need a pragmatic manager to have a chance. Doesn’t mean you need to be negative but just understand that you preferred philosophy isn’t going to work against top sides and you have to build towards it. That’s why someone like rohl is my preference as he’s already proven he can operate at the bottom of a table so let’s see how he can do with a team towards the top.
  24. I like the idea of a loan with obligation, seeing that he would likely not be involved in west hams first team straight away anyway and likely not Monaco’s. Although, as we are dealing with ourselves, an option would make more sense … we wouldn’t be planning to do ourselves dirty and there’s no reason to corner yourselves with an obligation if it’s not working for the player or us. But the only issue is that leuven may need the cash now for the replacement but it certainly should be easy enough to deal with yourself. Given that le fee and Edward’s were willing to do that does show that the players are open to these moves these days. We haven’t really worked with leuven on much, we’ve tried a few things to help them out but other than the Hirst loophole, (and sowah) we’ve not utilized it for our gain at all.
  25. Surely he’s scored more goals as man united manager than with us ?
